What should you expect from physiotherapy care?
Physiotherapy often includes two key components: passive care and active care.
Passive care may include hands-on treatment such as manual therapy, soft tissue work, joint mobilizations, cupping, taping, or other techniques used to help reduce pain, improve mobility, and calm irritated tissues.
Active care is just as important, this includes targeted exercises, mobility work, strength training, and movement retraining designed to help you build stability, restore function, and create lasting results beyond the treatment table.
A good physiotherapy plan should include both. Your therapist should assess the root of the issue, explain what’s going on, create a treatment plan tailored to your goals, and guide you through what recovery should look like - not just for short-term relief, but long-term progress.
Physiotherapy can be helpful for:
✔️ Neck and back pain
✔️ Muscle and joint injuries
✔️ Sprains and strains
✔️ Postural tension
✔️ Sports injuries
✔️ Shoulder, hip, or knee pain
✔️ Mobility restrictions
✔️ Chronic pain and recurring flare-ups
✔️ Post-surgical rehab
If pain, stiffness, or injury is affecting how you move, physiotherapy may be a great place to start. 🤍
