We'd like to take a minute to tell you a little about the Doctors. Dr. Charles Blumenfeld graduated dentistry in 1982. He is a Fellow of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantology), Diplomate of the ICOI, Fellow of the Misch Institute of Oral Implantology, Member of the AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry), Member of the ODSA (Ontario Dental Society of Anaesthesiology) and is licensed to provide IV conscious sedation. Dr. Blumenfeld is an active staff member at William Osler Health Centre (Etobicoke General and Peel Memorial Hospitals.) He is also a member of the IAO (International Association for Orthodontics). Dr. David Koven completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Toronto in 1992 and subsequently moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the distinguished Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. At both universities he was considered as one of the top students in his class, and received several academic scholarships. In 1996, Dr. Koven moved to Burlington, Vermont where he elected to expand his education, in a one year residency at the Fletcher Allen Memorial Hospital, considered to be one of the most prestigious Level 1 trauma centers in the United States. Dr. Koven treated patients on a trauma level as well as on an elective basis. During his dental residency he was closely affiliated with plastic surgeons, cranial facial surgeons and ear nose and throat surgeons. At Fletcher Allen Memorial Hospital, Dr. Koven had the privilege to treat many children who had not had prior access to proper oral care. In the last few years, he has developed a passion for computerized dentistry, and devotes many hours continuing his education to further increase his knowledge in this area. Dr. Koven obtained his dental license from the Northeast Regional Board, which allowed him to practice dentistry in several U.S. He chose to return to his beloved Toronto, to be near his family, and to practice his lifelong passion “dentistry”. Dr. Koven is an avid baseball fan, a devoted husband, and father to three wonderful children. He places great emphasis on listening to his patients and understanding their needs. Always ready with a quick joke or a funny story, Dr. Koven always strives to provide high quality dentistry in a very relaxing and comfortable manner.
