Do you have leftover unused medicines sitting at home? These unused medicines can pose a serious risk if accidentally taken by the wrong person, a child, or a pet. Old medications can also be problematic for the person they were prescribed for, if they are expired or interfere with new medications.

There is no reason to keep potentially dangerous unused medications lying around. You can bring leftover prescription pills, creams, and gels, as well as over-the-counter medications and natural health products into the pharmacy for safe disposal.

Help keep your family safe by routinely cleaning out your medicine cabinet and disposing of leftover medications. Find safe medication disposal tips here: https://www.tevacanada.com/en/canada/your-health-wellness/proper-medication-disposal/

The busy back-to-school season can be especially hectic if you’re a caregiver or a parent. Here are three tips that can help when trying to manage it all:

1/ Make lists. They’re visual reminders that will help you prioritize tasks and can keep you on track.
2/ Manage your expectations. Whether you’re planning weeknight dinners or after-school activities, forget about perfection. Sometimes good enough really is good enough.
3/ Declutter and get organized. From designated spots for the kids’ school backpacks, to a new filing system for medical records, being organized always pays off.

Check out this blog post on how to let friends in when you’re struggling with cancer:

With the days warming up, it’s tempting to get out into the sun. But, if you don’t protect yourself, ultraviolet rays from the sun can cause sunburn, eye cataracts, skin aging and skin cancer—even on cloudy days!

If you check the weather before heading outside, check the day’s UV index, too. This index helps measure the risk from the sun’s UV (ultraviolet) rays. The higher the index, the greater the need to take safety precautions. Find it here: https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/weather-health/uv-index-sun-safety.html

This summer, remember to stay properly hydrated throughout the day. Water keeps every part of your body working as it should, reducing chances of muscle cramps or fatigue.

Did you know that some prescription medications work better if you drink plenty of water? They usually have a green sticker on the packaging with this instruction.

Speak with our pharmacist to see if drinking more water could be helpful for you.

Compounding Medications for Hemorrhoids

Brampton Compounding Pharmacy has been helping people who have been suffering from the discomfort of hemorrhoids for years.

Re**al Ointments - For patients who are suffering from severe hemorrhoids we have the ability to compound several medications, either alone or in combination, into a re**al ointment. Re**al ointments are typically prescribed as a precursor to suppositories, as the ointment will help to shrink the hemorrhoids so that a suppository can be inserted comfortably.

Suppositories - We can compound several combinations of medications in suppository form. The suppositories keep the medications in direct contact with the hemorrhoids providing relief and shrinking the actual hemorrhoids.

“Re**al Rocket” Suppositories - Our unique suppositories (nicknamed the "Re**al Rocket" because of their shape) help to treat internal and external hemorrhoids simultaneously. Because of their contoured shape, they do not get lost in the re**um, and they allow patients to expel gas without losing the suppository.
