Our exploration of the Avro Arrow began with a captivating presentation by our resident Terry Owen. He talked about its innovative design and short-lived development. A subsequent visit to the Edenvale aerodrome brought the story to life, with exhibits showcasing the aircraft’s powerful engines and sleek form. Yet, the most compelling part was the puzzle that still surrounds the Arrow’s sudden cancellation — a mystery that invites endless theories and debates about what could have been a defining moment in Canadian aviation history.

In the bright lounge of the Greenway, some residents are hanging out with these super realistic robotic pets. There’s a fluffy robot cat purring on someone’s lap and a friendly robot dog wagging its tail, nudging a hand for attention.

They feel warm and move just like real animals, which makes everyone smile and reminds them of pets they had before. It’s a nice, chill way for them to feel connected and enjoy some company without any fuss.

Painting Rocks with Mady. Residents enjoyed rock painting today. It encouraged the residents to express their creativity by decorating smooth stones with paint or markers. Residents painted meaningful designs, uplifting messages, and summer themes. The finished rocks are displayed around the home and in our rock garden. 🥰

Residents at Venvi Churchill Place in Oakville were treated to a tasty presentation from a local student entrepreneur. Charlotte, a 15-year-old with a passion for baking, started her business, Grain & Loaf Co, to showcase that healthy can also mean delicious. Specializing in whole grain, good for you baked items, Charlotte is dedicated to bringing fresh, locally sourced, and handcrafted goods to customers.

Joined by her mother and grandmother, Charlotte brought her baked scones, muffins, and challah bread to share with residents, who were inspired by her energy and passion. She shared her story, recounting how she had taught herself to bake through trial and error, experimenting with healthier ingredients to make her treats more nutritious without sacrificing taste.

By the end of the presentation, Charlotte not only shared her delicious baked goods but also forged connections bridging generations through the joy of baking.

The Bentley Regina recently celebrated their grand re-opening after months of renovations. Residents were joined by Regina’s Mayor, Chad Bachynski, and other members of the community who were able to enjoy the inviting new spaces. The residence features an ode to The Capitol Theatre and an all-new pub called The Honking Goose Tavern. Guests had the opportunity to sample the Pension Plan Pilsner, a collaboration with The Bentley Regina and Pile O Bones Brewery located in Regina - a true Saskatchewan beer. If you’re in the area, drop by The Bentley Regina to say hello!

This month, residences across Canada will have the opportunity to participate in an inspiring horticulture conference prepared by Alexis Ashworth from Root in Nature 🌻

Residents can then put their newfound knowledge into practice by creating beautiful gardening projects to bring life and color to each of our properties.

Retirement living is about community and connection. A new resident at Venvi Windsor Park retirement residence felt overwhelmed on her first day, until a group of compassionate residents embraced her warmly. Over lunch, they shared stories and realized they all hailed from the same Italian town. What began as a simple gesture blossomed into an hour of laughter, camaraderie, and encouragement.
