Notice your skin always acts up either during or post travel? Here are some reasons why this might be happening
☀️ Your normal routine is off, so you’re less likely to be consuming enough water, eating the right foods or getting adequate rest which can lead to inflammation
☀️ Flights can cause your skin to feel dry, depleting it of necessary moisture which then leads your skin to go into overdrive to compensate for the lack of necessary oils by over producing sebum
☀️ Of course when we’re travelling we want to look our best, which means we’re applying more makeup then sometimes our skin is typically accustom too.. which can contribute to your skin feeling more congested then usual
☀️ Alcohol, long periods of being in the sun (unprotected), smoking etc can cause further dehydration and inflammation
These are just some of the factors which can cause inflammation, dryness and texture during travel. Now let’s talk about some easy ways to help reduce post-travel skin woes
💦 Make sure you find ways to pack light skincare. Avoid actives like retinol, chemical exfoliators and resurfacing skincare. Opt for more double cleansers, hydrating toners, light weight moisturizers and a good spf (hint hint )
💦 Invest into a good quality sheet mask that you’ve tried and tested before. Make sure you’ve masked before getting on your flight and having more handy when you feel your skin could use a pick me up during your trip
💦 Invest into your makeup removal products. Don’t let things build up, my all time favourite has to be the Daily Cleansing Oil from
💦 Plan ahead, get a facial 5-7 days before or after traveling just to make sure things don’t accumulate - let the professionals do the extractions
