McMaster University is recruiting pregnant women to participate in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to test the impact of a 1-day workshop designed for preventing postpartum depression (PPD).

The workshops are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and delivered online through Zoom. If eligible, you will be randomly assigned (like the flip of a coin) to receive the 1-day workshop plus usual care from your healthcare providers or to receive usual care from your healthcare providers alone. You will be asked to complete a set of online questionnaires four times: once upon enrollment, and at 1, 2, and 3 months postpartum. For each time you complete the questionnaires we will email you a $20 WalMart gift card (total $80).

You may be eligible to participate if you are living in Ontario, 18 years of age or older, in the third trimester of pregnancy (between 28-36 weeks) and are not currently depressed but have had a depressive episode in the past.

The next workshop will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
