It's Friday and I have been reflecting on the week and a specific theme that has been coming up in sessions- mental load!

The lists, the planning, remembering, anticipating, worrying, organizing...it keeps going and it's heavy!

So many of us are carrying far more in our minds than anyone around us realizes. It's the emotional responsibility of making sure that life keeps going well for us and everyone around us.

So, if youre feeling mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted, you are not alone πŸ’š

A gentle reminder from me to you as we head into the weekend, you are allowed to rest and you dont need to carry everything perfectly.

I'm Monija πŸ’š I’m a Registered Psychotherapist, but that’s only one part of my story...

πŸ’šI’ve survived a war.
πŸ’šI’ve been lost at sea for over 20h and 20 miles off shore...learning what surrender and trust really mean.
πŸ’šI married a military man, and life taught me early about resilience, goodbyes, and holding steady in uncertainty.

πŸ’šI'm a mom to two incredible humans (14 & 10) who keep me humble, laughing, and growing.
My home is full of kids, laughter, and 3 cats and 2 dogs, and the kind of chaos that somehow feels like belonging.

πŸ’šI practice EMDR, Attachment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy because I know, personally and professionally, that trauma lives in the body, relationships heal wounds, and safety is something we build together.

I do my best thinking near the ocean πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
I belong on the beach, barefoot, breathing salt air.
European at heart, I carry old-world depth, story, and soul wherever I go.

I work with PTSD, CPTSD, and BPD, not from a place of β€œfixing,” but from deep respect for survival.
Because healing isn’t about becoming someone new,
it’s about coming home to who you were before the world asked too much of you.
