Dynamic is very proud of the women who have claimed our clinic as their work home and family. We have so many unique talents and giftings worth celebrating within our clinicians, admin and support staff. Thank you to each of you for all that you do to make our clinic a great place to be, and for offering Westman your best in their rehab journey! On Saturday, some of our staff were able to attend an event in support of a great women’s cause, thanks to for a great evening.

Let’s get to know our Physiotherapist, Tamara!

How long have you been a Physiotherapist?
I have been a physiotherapist for 3 years. I did my undergrad in Kinesiology at University of Regina and my Masters of Physical Therapy at University of Manitoba. I moved to Brandon to be closer to family and friends.

What area of Physiotherapy practice do you enjoy most?
I have a passion for exercise-based treatments. I love treating patients that have the same love for movement.

You have a long history with the sport of hockey, tell us a little about it and how you have remained involved despite having moved on from very high level sport.
I grew up in MacGregor playing boys hockey for the MacGregor Mustangs and girls hockey for the Portage Terriers. I then transitioned into playing for Central Plain Capitals for U18 and then eventually played for University of Regina.

I am now an assistant coach for the U15 Westman Wildcats. I enjoy helping shape the up and coming female athletes in the Westman region and sharing my love of the sport with others.

How does being an athlete influence your physiotherapy career?
It always helps me to have an understanding of what it is like going through in-season injuries and the importance of having a routine - a warm up, strengthening exercises, and cool down.

What's your favourite moment / memory so far at dynamic?
The work Christmas party and watching everyone join in for the minute-to-win-it games

What is the most common advise you give to your clients?
Continue to move. You may need to modify the range of motion you work in, the reps you do, or the weight you are moving but I want you to continue to move.

Fun fact about you?
In my spare time, I enjoy helping my boyfriend with his cattle. I am the executive calf namer on the farm!

Tamara is a girl whose bubbly laugh and enthusiasm for her career helps to make every day a little better for those around her. We are very grateful to have Tamara on our team at Dynamic!

Throwback to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics when one of Dynamic's partners, Bobbi Schram, played an integral role in the athletic development and health of several Westman Olympians. In addition to being a Physiotherapist, Bobbi is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and she spent over 20 years coaching athletes in this capacity. Bobbi designed off ice strength & conditioning programs and worked multiple times per week with pairs figure skaters Paige Lawrence and Rudi Swiegers during the 4 years leading up to the Sochi games. She also worked regularly with Jill Officer prior to Jill moving to Winnipeg to train with the Jones rink, which went on to win gold at the Olympics.

"To journey with athletes through the process of qualifying and preparing for the Olympic games was as rewarding as it was challenging. The road I travelled with these athletes to the Olympics had curves, mountain tops and valleys, but it was unforgettable and drew out the best in every one of us. The memories and relationships from the journey are as meaningful as the indescribable excitement of seeing your athlete compete on Olympic ice." -Bobbi Schram

Side note: Bobbi also worked closely with Alex Plante who represented South Korea in Ice Hockey at the PyeongChang Olympic games in 2018.

Always trying to find your “cheats” so we can teach optimal movement patterns. This one was kind of easy to spot!

Although PT's may focus a lot of our efforts on physical recovery, we know that other factors such as social and psychological issues can impact healing. Go ahead and tell us about what is happening in your life! You will find that we are good listeners and we care about what is important to you. Side note: if you don't recognize this clip, this is your hint to cozy up on one of winter's cold evenings and watch Shark Tale.

Research clearly shows that proper exercise prescription is one of the most critical elements in successful rehab. We are adding more equipment to our rural locations to allow our therapists to help you learn the harder exercises that will ultimately help you you feel better. Plus, look how happy Kieran is doing step ups, it has to be good for you! Give us a call or book on line to schedule at our Minnedosa office.
