Our Story

Rolling Spokes is the first business of its kind to open in Brandon area establishing in 1985. Since its inception, Rolling Spokes has always striven to meet the needs of those with disabilities and challenges that affect everyday life.

Rolling Spokes is owned and operated by Les Wedderburn and Vernon Byers (purchased in 2005) and employs seven staff to cover the needs of our clients.

Rolling Spokes offers a full line of home medical equipment from wheelchair, scooters and lifts to elevators and stairlifts. Our retail store has the largest showroom, repair shop, and on-site warehouse in Manitoba.

With “Age-in-place”, the new buzzword as related to our senior population, the need for Rolling Spokes is even more in demand.

In 2013, Rolling Spokes brought in an adaptive clothing line. The adaptive clothing line is for those who suffer restrictive problems related to getting dressed. In 2015 we opened ‘Ashley’s Adaptive Apparel’ in Winnipeg to better serve the population there.

Rolling Spokes covers approximately a 100-mile radius of Brandon every week and do this by covering four quadrants of southern Manitoba the same days of each week.

The focus of Rolling Spokes has always been service. Looking after peoples’ needs in a timely fashion is key. In a business such as Rolling Spokes, you realize that our services and products are not necessarily required as a want but at a time of need. Not only do we offer mobility products such as wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters, we carry: ~ Patient room equipment, sleep surfaces, pressure prevention products, self-assist products, rehabilitation products, pediatric products, & an extensive adaptive clothing line. ~ Canes, crutches, and accessories, personal care products for dressing & eating, heating pads, seating and positioning cushions, patient alarms...the list is endless. ~ Bathroom products, such as bath benches and stools, walk-in-tubs, transfer benches, bath lifts, raised toilet seats, safety frames, tub rails, bath mats, grab bars, and accessories. ~ Bedroom products, which include home-care beds, long term care beds, bariatric beds, bed rails, patient lifts, pressure prevention beds, commodes, and accessories.
