In case you haven’t heard the news…

We’re told birth control is “freedom.”
But no one talks about the cost.

The pill doesn’t just pause your cycle, it overrides your body’s entire hormonal rhythm with synthetics. Over time, that means:
• Gut health changes
• Nutrient depletion (B vitamins, zinc, magnesium)
• Suppressed ovulation for years
• Hormonal imbalances that can take months (or years) to recover from

The WHO classifies hormonal birth control as a Group 1 carcinogen, the same category as asbestos and to***co, yet it’s handed out to teenage girls like candy.

This isn’t fear. It’s informed choice.

Reclaiming it is a return to rhythm, intuition, and whole-body sovereignty.

Sovereign, Undisturbed, Radical, BIRTH.

This is what undisturbed, physiological home birth actually looks like. No hospital policies. No time limits. No strangers. Just a woman in her power, supported—not managed. Start to finish, this is what it means to trust birth. Every moment in this post happened without fear, intervention, or interference. This is birth on her terms.

“It is the wise baby who wears its umbilical cord as a string of pearls.”

Food for thought… our babies are much more wise than we give them credit for. 💭

Babies first home—mom.

One of my favorite places to capture life—home. The cozy chaos, the warmth, the unfiltered beauty of everyday moments.

Messy beds, scattered toys, half-drunk cups of tea, and the quiet hum of love in the air.

There’s something so raw and sacred about documenting motherhood in the space where it unfolds naturally.

No staging, no perfection—just the deep, unshakable bond between mother and baby, where love is the foundation and home, and mother, is the first safe place.

Women in their purest essence—growing, nurturing, and holding life itself. From the quiet strength of pregnancy to the tender embrace of motherhood, these images honor the sacred journey of bringing a soul earthside. It’s a privilege to witness and capture the raw, unfiltered beauty of a mother and her child.

It’s about that time of year where I am brainstorming all the women circles + shoots I will be hosting this year.

It’s going to be a beautiful season.

Looking forward to hosting you women, xx 🌹

The incredible placenta. 🌹🌳🥀

The placenta is a temporary organ that develops during pregnancy to sustain and nourish new life. It connects mother and baby through the umbilical cord, delivering oxygen and nutrients while removing waste. It also produces essential hormones like progesterone and oxytocin to support pregnancy and labor.

Beyond its physical function, the placenta carries deep spiritual and symbolic meaning. It is often seen as a sacred bridge between mother and child, a vessel of divine provision—much like manna in the wilderness, sustaining life by God’s perfect design. In biblical and ancestral traditions, the placenta has been honored in various ways, from burial rituals symbolizing a return to the earth to its use in postpartum recovery, recognizing its role in sustaining life both in the womb and beyond.

In the second image you can see that the placenta is surrounded by the amniotic sac, a protective membrane filled with amniotic fluid where the baby grows and develops. This sac provides a cushion, regulates temperature, and allows for movement, helping the baby’s muscles, lungs, and digestive system develop properly.

Biblically and symbolically, the amniotic sac can be seen as a divine sanctuary, a holy veil that encloses and protects life until the appointed time of birth—much like how creation is nurtured in the womb of the earth before being revealed.

There are numerous ways you can honour your placenta, to name a few:
• Burial under a tree or planting a tree
• Consumption
• Placenta prints (makes cute art prints)
• Cord keepsakes (shapes like heart or spiral)
• Sacred ceremonies or blessings
• Placenta burning ceremony
• Medicinal uses (salves, tinctures, skincare)
• Offering to nature (body of water, wildlife)
