In all seriousness, Golden Age Management is all about the personal touches. I really do bring my full heart and soul into this business. I’m guided by not only my education and training, but especially my passion for aging with intention and holistic wellness across the life course.

This translates into everything I do, whether it’s meeting 1:1 with clients, running a group program, or collaborating with community partners. It’s not about being perfect and getting everything right the first time. It’s about showing up, putting in the effort, being vulnerable and open to growing… and having some fun along the way!

No one said this work would be easy, but having a strong referral network and incredible clients makes it deeply rewarding.

At the end of the day, it’s about creating meaningful connections and supporting people in a way that truly feels human.

And sometimes, it looks like sharing homegrown veggies or a fresh loaf of sourdough along the way 🥰

Today was my first time attending the We Serve Seniors meeting at Charlotte Villa Retirement.

We Serve Seniors is a networking group of caring professionals dedicated to improving the lives of seniors across Ontario. Through their monthly local chapter meetings, attendees connect, collaborate, and support one another to strengthen services and build thriving senior communities.

I am always so inspired after engaging in discussions with other professionals about the needs of our aging population, and learning about different services and resources available to seniors and caregivers in the community.

Together, we make a difference!

We’ll be filming at Sunroom Studios in St. George in July for an hour to capture simple moments like chatting, having tea, maybe a light exercise. No acting experience needed at all 😊

This memory popped up from 7 years ago and got me thinking 💭
I had been volunteering at the Reach Out Centre for Kids in their Youth Aiding Youth program and was nominated for an award for going above and beyond as a volunteer.
I was deep in self-reflection and development at the time, and was inspired to give back to the organization as they had provided me with immense support as a youth myself.
The program focused on providing stability, friendship and recreation for children at risk of mental health issues. As someone with adverse childhood experiences, I was acutely aware of the lifelong impacts these issues can have on a person, and I wanted to inspire others to develop their resilience as they grow and age.

Looking back, I feel incredibly privileged to not only have had this support in my early years, but also to have reached a place in my young adulthood where I felt ready to give back. It not only helped someone else, but also helped shape me into who I am today. 🫶

I will always be in the business of caring ❤️

✋ Signs your aging parent might need extra support.

These changes can be subtle and easy to overlook.

It can help to keep track of any behaviours or comments that seem out of character. Writing things down, whether it’s missed appointments or changes in mood, can give you a clearer picture over time.

Journaling these experiences can also help you process what’s happening, especially in stressful caregiving situations, and recognize patterns you might not notice day to day.
