Anddddd thatโ€™s a wrap ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Tonight I hosted my very first webinar on emotional eating ๐Ÿฅฐ And funny enough, I randomly picked a day in my calendar that just so happened to be the day I launched my business 2 years ago ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜… (yes, i just realized)! All that to say, hereโ€™s what I learned:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Although only 30% of individuals who registered actually showed up, I was able to make a nice addition to my email list

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป I noticed a huge increase in registration and following once I got over the hump of showing my face on social media

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Because I showed up and proved my expertise, I believe that listeners gained an immense amount of trust with me and will tell others about how I can help them and what they learned

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Marketing and preparing for a presentation requires a lot of time and effort, but the increase in โ€œvisibilityโ€ was SO worth it

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Tech hiccups are annoying AF but I tried my best and will learn more for next time

Safe to say I achieved my 2025 business goal and still remain very passionate about this topic โ˜บ๏ธ Iโ€™m excited to keep evolving and connecting with everyone - I hope you all feel more empowered ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค Thank you xo

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Physical Hunger: Comes on gradually, around 2-4 hours after your last meal/snack, and can be satisfied with any food

๐Ÿค Emotional Hunger: Comes on suddenly, usually shortly after your last meal, and the cravings are loud and specific!

Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) is a national movement from February 1st - 7th each year, dedicated to raising awareness about the causes, prevalence, and impact of eating disorders while challenging the stigma and barriers to access of care.

I love using the new year as an opportunity for self-reflection on lessons learned, memories shared, moments of growth, and challenges that opened new doors. ๐Ÿชท

As I look back, I am incredibly grateful for my 2024 wins:
- manifesting and receiving my dream job in eating disorder treatment
- buying and moving into my first home
- joining a new fitness community and maintaining 4-5 classes/week
- learning and taking up pickleball with friends and family
- having more faith in the power of surrendering through +self-work and therapy

Rather than setting resolutions that are future-focused, I prefer setting intentions that embody grace and compassion, and focus on a specific state of being.

In 2025, I look forward to:
- expanding my knowledge in mental health and sharing what I learn with others
- trusting and believing that everything is always working out for my highest good, even if itโ€™s not on the timeline I envisioned
- cherishing the freedom that comes with following my heart, exploring new hobbies and traveling to new placesโ€ฆ all without being held back by someone elseโ€™s expectations
- celebrating love in all its forms: weddings, friendships, self-love

๐ŸŽ HAPPY NUTRITION MONTH ๐Ÿฅฆ

Nutrition Month can be a great time to reflect on your eating habits and consider how you can strive for improvement. Eating a wide variety of foods including fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, legumes, nuts, and lean protein will help to maintain good health and meet your nutritional needs.

Tips for balanced eating:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Aim to make fruits and vegetables the focal point of your meals. Include a wide variety of colours to ensure youโ€™re getting a wide variety of nutrients.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Choose whole grains more often than refined grains. Opt for brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat bread, and oats as whole grains are higher in fibre, which help keep you feeling full while supporting your digestive health.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Include lean proteins such as poultry, fish, legumes, tofu, and nuts. Protein is essential for building and repairing tissues, maintaining muscle mass, and supporting immune function.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Incorporate healthy fats into your diet to enhance brain function, heart health, and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. Sources of healthy fats include avocados, nuts/seeds, fatty fish, and olive oil.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Be mindful of your portion sizes. Avoid eating foods from the packages, use smaller plates and bowls, and try not to eat past the point of feeling comfortably full.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Follow the 80/20 rule: eat for nourishment 80% of the time and eat for enjoyment 20% of the time. There is no harm in having treats such as chips, chocolate, candy, and baked goods in moderation!
