Where do I start 😅 I know there’s a lot of questions

This winter hasn’t been the easiest, a time where I should be the busiest and bringing in the most revenue, I got stopped in my tracks roughly a week and a half before Christmas. I woke up fine, ate, and shortly after had severe pain in my upper abdomen and couldn’t keep anything down. If you know me, I also tend to downplay pain (I stayed home for 24 hours when I was in labour because I convinced myself it was false, and this was no different, I thought I had food poisoning). I didn’t go to the hospital for over 24 hours. I drove myself to a walk in LOL and they sent me to the hospital. I was diagnosed hours later with unexplainable pancreatitis.

Admitted immediately to the hospital where I stayed for 6 days. The busiest week of the year in retail. Luckily I was nearly caught up on orders, people were patient and gracious. No solids for days in case of surgery, I lost my breast milk supply and Tj had so much to do and organize behind the scenes so I could rest there.

The doctor said since it was most likely an unexplainable perfect storm, it wouldn’t be considered chronic and it should be a one off situation, however, he said the recovery process is normally 3-4 weeks - which was spot on. I only really started to feel 100% myself a week or so ago, but I am better, and I just need to do some follow up tests.

I want to say thank you to everyone who supported Bathtub Bakery for the holidays if you got your order in before the craziness. I always knew I had the best customers, but your patience, grace & messages were lovely. I felt no stress with wrapping everything up so I could rest for the month.

With this being said… I’ve been off for a month lol and missed so much potential income leading up to Christmas, so I’ll be working on my site this weekend for a comeback. I’m ready to fill your tubs & homes with delicious smelling products again 💥🫧🛁 + we’ll be accepting bulk orders

Due to an ongoing medical emergency and an unknown timeframe that I’ll be able to get out the hospital, I have decided to shutdown operations immediately.

If you have an order in, you should have been contacted so check your messages, if you’re looking for gift cards I’ll be able to fulfill that for you.
We do have minimal stock available that I will be posting when I feel up to it before Christmas that will be available for pick up, first come first serve.

Not the way I wanted the year to end, but health is always first, and I need to rest to get better.

Our Sweet Story

What started as an idea on the 6th floor of an apartment building, rapidly turned into a Brantford Storefront.

I knew I wanted to start a business around bath & body products with my own delicious twist. My passion about self-care, baths, and sweet treats encouraged my mind to explore the idea of Bathtub Bakery, and it worked! Established in June of 2016, I began selling from home, and hustling at vendor events every month while still working my day-to-day job. August of 2018 I decided to take the plunge and see how the market would respond to my own brick and mortar, I'm glad I did! The response to the store has been incredible, and I am so humbled meeting new people on a regular basis who were recommended to check it out! In a summary, Bathtub Bakery specializes in making bakery-inspired bath and body products! Starting out I was astounded to learn the shelf life of some products in the beauty industry. They can sit on shelves for over a year before it even hits the customers' hands. I decided I want to change that. I extended the business concept to also be know for always producing fresh products. I've worked in the restaurant industry since I was 17, and if a restaurant can have pars to always provide fresh food for their customers, why couldn't a cosmetic store? The possibilities with this concept are endless and allows me to tap into my creativity and constantly bring out new products for my customers. If you're still reading, My name is Brianne, or Bri, depending on how long you've known me for. I'm the one woman show behind Bathtub Bakery located at 14B-111 Sherwood Drive, in Brantford, Ontario. I run the store, crunch the numbers, market, and all bath and body products found in store are handmade by, you guessed it, me! I am inspired by a lot people, and knowing what goes into each and every product. I love to hustle and reflect on my work, but my favourite thing is turning desserts into bath treats! Fresh products are my thing and I hope you love them as much as I do! Custom Orders are not only welcome, but encouraged!
