Talk therapy can feel good… but what if it’s not enough?

You feel heard. You understand yourself better. But your day to day life doesn't actually change.

Most therapy helps us cope with our problems. I aim for something deeper: helping the problems themselves resolve—by working directly with your nervous system.

In this article, I share why traditional therapy often hits a ceiling… and how Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, SSP, RRP, and parts work can create real, lasting change.

If you’re ready for healing that’s gentle, effective, and rooted in how your body actually works, this is for you.

Discover why nervous system-based therapy creates deeper, lasting change than traditional talk therapy. Learn how Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, SSP, RRP, and parts work can gently resolve the root causes of anxiety, trauma, and overwhelm.

What if productivity isn’t about pushing through but about working with your natural rhythm? In this post, I share how a day of following my instincts—repotting plants, building LEGO flowers, and walking my dogs—led to more creativity, inspiration, and progress than forcing myself to work. This shift, influenced by the Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP) and embracing my neurodivergence, has helped me move away from rigid expectations and toward a more compassionate, effective way of working. Read on to see why rest isn’t the opposite of productivity—it’s a key part of it

How Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP) has helped me embrace my neurodivergence and natural rhythm. This lead to a day of following my instincts which led to more creativity, inspiration, and progress than attempting to force work ever would have.

This starts next week 😁

Are you a Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) provider looking to deepen your impact and support your clients more effectively? Join our Somatic Experiencing Skills Group—a tailored program designed to equip SSP providers with practical, body-based tools that enhance the therapeutic process for both themselves and their clients.

Why Combine Somatic Experiencing with SSP?

By integrating Somatic Experiencing (SE) skills, you can:

•. Strengthen Co-Regulation: Cultivate a deeper sense of safety and trust

• Facilitate Grounding: Help clients manage improve regulation before, during & after SSP

• Expand Your Toolkit: Offer clients new tools that they can practice any time, anywhere

• Enhance Client Outcomes: Build your confidence and skills in supporting clients. ensuring a smoother, more effective, easier and more enjoyable therapeutic journey.

What You’ll Gain

In this interactive group, you will be learning through practice:

• Orienting and Grounding Practices

• Self-Regulation Strategies: Skills to maintain your own nervous system balance, fostering better co-regulation.

• Tracking and Titration: Tools to help clients stay within their window of tolerance

• Practical advice on how to integrate SE orienting skills before, during and after SSP or RRP

Who Should Attend?

This group is intended for SSP & RRP providers but is open to other practitioners as well

Whether you’re new to SE or looking to further practice and deepen your SE orienting skills while connecting with like minded others, this group is designed to meet you exactly where you are at.

Please note:

These experiential sessions will focus on practice together rather than lecture and note-taking, with attendees encouraged to apply the skills between meetings. Somatic Experiencing orienting skills are best learned through repetition. Similar to a workout for the nervous system, regular practice can lead to rapid, transformative results, with or without the addition of SSP or other approaches. 😊

Some exciting news for the polyvagal, trauma therapy, and Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) provider communities...

As some of you may have heard, Stephen Porges and Anthony Gorry have created a brand new auditory intervention - the Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP).

I had the incredible honour this past summer of helping with a pilot study for RRP. Words can not express how excited I am about RRP.

The Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP) has not yet been released but you can sign up to be kept informed of new developments with RRP as well as review the preliminary RRP pilot study data on the Unyte Health website, here: https://integratedlistening.com/products/rest-and-restore-protocol/

Stay tuned! RRP is such an amazing approach. Most of my clients in the pilot study have not wanted to stop listening to RRP - I feel the very same way. 😃

A new listening therapy rooted in nervous system regulation that was developed to help calm and restore mental and physical functioning.

Calling all GTA mental and physical health practitioners, and Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) providers

Join me and other SSP providers for an evening of connection, co-regulation, and shared insights.

I and a few of my colleagues will be speaking on a panel about how we integrate SSP into our practice.

Whether you are already certified in SSP or curious about it - either in relation to potentially becoming a provider or knowing when and why to refer someone for SSP, this is a wonderful chance to meet, learn and grow!

I am super excited for my upcoming webinar with Unyte

The webinar is free of charge. Anyone is welcome to attend:

SSP providers, clinicians and health professionals who do not offer SSP, and the general public. 🙂

Please join us! Those who register for the event will also be sent a recording of it afterwards.

We will be talking about anxiety, the nervous system and tips and tricks for how to transform anxiety gently, with the Safe & Sound Protocol.

Discussion of other modalities such as Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Brainspotting (BSP) will likely be woven in as well. :)
