Incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to continue to learn from my teachers, Tracy Soltesz and Lonny Jarrett this week in Lenox, Massachusetts. It is with these teachers I have been studying the lineage of Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis, 5 element Acupuncture and integral medicine as a whole for 4 years.

Over the last 4 years Lonny has helped me evolve so much not only as an acupuncturist but as a human being rooted in Love.

A practitioner can only help others heal in a meaningful way to the depth they have healed themselves. Like you, I am ever evolving into becoming Me more every day. I am grateful for all the teachers and healers like Lonny who continue to support me regularly so I can show up for you!

One of the hard lessons I have learned in the last few years is that pain is inevitable in this human life but suffering is optional.

In Chinese Medicine the emotions related to the 5 elements are meant to be felt fully. That means feeling fully the pleasant and unpleasant emotions.

When an emotion isn’t felt fully, processed and integrated in the nervous system the unprocessed parts can manifest as a physical symptom in one or more of the organ systems which are connected to the nervous system. This might take a few days to many years to manifest as a physical symptoms. However, the optimal human experience is to fully feel an emotion (no matter how pleasant or uncomfortable it is), feel it in the body, be present with it, and allow it to release with the support of presence. The tricky thing is to not give the emotion/experience more meaning than what it is presenting in that moment.

In today’s modern world there’s a big emphasis on regulating the nervous system with various practices but not so much of integrating the past experiences into the present to help support a deeper connection with self and others.

With the right intention and right practitioner, acupuncture can help support not only the regulation of the nervous system but also the integration process without words or getting wrapped up in stories. If anything, if someone is ready and willing, Chinese Medicine acupuncture can help unravel old stories and beliefs.

To serve you better I’m changing my schedule starting in February!

A lot of people have the intention of putting their health as more of a priority this year. One way to do that is scheduling out your appointments throughout the year or a few months at a time. So many times people say they are grateful they did that for themselves, especially when life gets busy.

Join me on Oct 13th at 2pm for a healing meditation.

I want to provide a space for anyone who may need support at this time. An opportunity to connect to our innate wholeness, health and Union for ourselves, each other and the land.

Reconciliation and anti racism work starts with internal healing in combination with action.

As a white bodied person I have learned that harm is learned and inter generational and yet it can also stop with you.

Colonization occurred not just by people long occur but our culture is a continued byproduct of it in many ways.

Repair and healing starts with healing the nervous system so that when implicit biases, dysregulation, and internal/external chaos comes up we can have a choice to act differently instead of perpetuating harm (intentionally and unintentionally).

Join me for this healing meditation which simply yet powerfully can help start this process of awareness and internal connection. The mantra we will chant for 31 minutes is from the Sikh/kundalini tradition (Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung).

I recognize that this meditation is not Indigenous nor do I intend or want to pretend to facilitate an indigenous practice as I am white bodied/non indigenous. Nor does this practice replace the action that we all must take to do our part for reconciliation. (And no…putting up social media posts like this doesn’t count either).

Donations are encouraged but not required. All donations will be given to the Aboriginal Health Centre of Brantford ( )community outreach fund.
Join in person (registration required) or online. All info is on my website www.warriorspirithealingarts.ca

A big part of healing is being able to allow life to move through you. I notice in areas in my life where I don't accept change it creates stagnation in energy and blood flow physically. Sometimes acceptance means feeling my way through the discomfort, because some kind of change is bound to happen.

This is one white coat you don’t need to be afraid of.

There’s a Buddhist teaching I have on my desk that reads “May I be the doctor and the medicine”.

To me, this quote means offering the treatments but also embodying the medicine in my day to day life. I’m human, and not perfect, but trying to walk my talk is important. The medicine is rooted in love. So I try to do that.

I named my business to represent my name which translates in Sikhi as “spiritual warrior”. For many years I took on the role of the hardcore masculine archetype…being all or none in many aspects.

However, in the last 3 years or so I’ve come to learn from a more embodied place being a true warrior requires fierce compassion and vulnerability. It has a surprising softer quality. (Pretty much like every warrior transformation movie you’ve ever seen…for some reason I am currently thinking of the scene when John Wick’s dog died and Deadpool’s baby legs/hands come to mind) 😆 Sometimes I feel like I am just growing baby legs feeling crappy about myself. Other times I am reminded “oh yeah, this is definitely a fascinating life.” The healing process for everyone goes through similar ups and downs but the warrior always gets back up.

Now although I am a Registered Acupuncturist and do not have a title of a doctor, I do take the medicine seriously as if I was a doctor. We wore a lab coat in school and I continued that when I graduated.

The role of acupuncture is shifting constantly into today’s culture as it becomes more saturated in western medicine. I’m doing my best to honor the roots of Chinese medicine by focusing my practice on the more classical components of it through 5 Element Acupuncture in combo with TCM. Learning to master the Shen Hammer pulse diagnosis process has been a key component for me in honoring the potential that Chinese Medicine offers.
