BBNOHT was proud to take part in this meaningful event, joining our OHT in celebrating the flag raising that marks the start of Black History Month. It was inspiring to come together as a community to honor the contributions, history, and achievements of Black Canadians!

Today in Harmony Square, we raised the Black History Month flag to mark the beginning of Black History Month in Brantford, a moment to come together as a community.
This year’s theme, 30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations, reminds us that Black history is woven into the story of our city and continues to shape who we are today.
Thank you to Theresa Vidal of Woodview Mental Health & Autism Services, to Dr. Robert Ame from Wilfrid Laurier University, and to the many community partners who helped make this gathering possible.
Black History Month is a time to learn, reflect, and celebrate together.
