Big fitness goals in January are easy. Sticking to them is the hard part 💪

That’s why we would like to share a few strategies that we see work best with our patients:

• Start small and stay consistent (even 1 day/week to start at the gym is great for example, rather than automatically starting with 5 days/week)
• Be specific with your goals (30 mins, 3x/week > “get in shape”)
• Track progress and use accountability
• Focus on the process, not just the end result
• Don’t overload yourself with too many resolutions
• Plan ahead for busy weeks or disruptions
• Reward progress (maybe not with chocolate cake 😂😉)
• Listen to your body. Soreness is normal to start (DOMS), but recurring pain is not.

If you have pain or an injury that derails you from meeting your fitness goals, it is imperative to see one of our providers to help identify any modifications that can get you back on track. Half the battle is knowing what to do!

These stretches are perfect for workdays, study breaks, or anytime you’ve been sitting for a long time.

Chair squats:
Stand up from your chair and reach your arms overhead as you rise, then sit back down with control to wake up your legs, hips, and upper body.

Arm stretch:
Bring one arm across your body to ease tension through the shoulders and upper back.

Ankle circles:
Lift one foot and slowly circle your ankle to keep your joints moving and improve circulation.

Wrist and finger stretch:
Reach your arms behind your back and gently hold your opposite wrist to open up the forearms, wrists, and hands after typing.

Hold each stretch for about 30 seconds, breathe, and move within a comfortable range.

Save this for later and try it during your next break 👀🪑

We have a winner for the December gumdrop guessing game! 🍬🎉

Our gumdrop guessing game winner guessed 200… and the actual number was 204 so she was the closest 👀

One day, she stopped by with her dad for his appointment, took a guess, and absolutely nailed it!

This FaceTime moment you see pictured above was us telling her she won and showing her the giant jar of gumdrops that’s about to be all hers 😋

I guess this is proof that sometimes the best guesses come from the youngest brains in the room 😉

Thanks to everyone who played. We loved seeing all the guesses come in. Keep your eyes out in the clinic or on our social media accounts for more future challenges!

New year, new you… but let’s do this the smart way.

One thing we see every January: people jump back into workouts and routines way too fast. Five days a week, no rest, pushing through soreness. That’s usually when pain shows up.

Here’s a better way to start 2026:
• Start at about 60–70% of what you think you can do
• Add one extra workout or activity day per week, not all at once
• Take movement breaks during long workdays
• If something feels sore or tight, give it a day to settle before pushing harder

Progress should feel steady, not rushed.

If you want help building a plan that actually works for your body, we’ve got you.

Sitting. Driving. Cooking. Carrying Gifts.
Your body does a lot during the holidays.
If something feels off, don’t ignore it. Small aches can turn into bigger problems if you try to push through them.

Christmas dinner with the Centreline Physio team 🎄 The night was full of delicious food, lots of laughs, and competitive games. From knowing the most fun facts about the clinic to drawing Christmas trees on top of plates on our heads, it was a night full of fun. Huge thank you to Jackie for treating everyone to a great buffet, drinks, and gifts. Very grateful for this team and everything we accomplished this year.
