Your doula cannot birth for you. No matter how great she is, she cannot do the work FOR you.

What she can do is guide you through pregnancy so you go into birth with confidence… in your body, in your team, in breastfeeding… in every step of the process.
Because what matters most is the way you feel during labour — you’ll never forget it. ♥️

WE HAVE GROWN AGAIN 🎉
Please help me welcome our newest breastfeeding coach, .degraaf to the team!

Heather has been a registered nurse for almost 9 years now and is now a mom to two beautiful children, with one more coming in June! While on her second maternity leave trying (and struggling) to breastfeed her son, she realized how difficult breastfeeding can be (it seemed so simple with the first, who was “born to breastfeed”, her midwife said). Heather sought out some help, but it left her more confused. So in the middle of the night (newborn mom life!), she signed up to take some breastfeeding courses to try and figure this out herself. Fast forward a couple years and here Heather is, in pursuit of becoming a licensed lactation consultant, and so eager to share the knowledge she’s gained so far as a breastfeeding coach! If breastfeeding is a struggle (or even if it’s not!), feel free to reach out and share in what she is passionate about!

I knew it would be hard; I didn’t know HOW hard.
Or shall I say… I knew I was strong; I didn’t know HOW strong. How powerful.
I didn’t know that birth would bring me to the end of myself and into a space where I would call on The Divine for help (and didn’t He show up ✨).

My first weekend away from my babies. Ever.
If you’ve been around for some time, you know we talk about the motherbaby dyad a lot. In a world that wants to rip families apart, our mission is to protect it.

For so many reasons, I was nervous to be away. What is baby M doesn’t nurse when I come back? Will my kids be distraught? Confused? What is something happens?

But MAN OH MAN, it was good to have a moment. To sit in the spa and relax and pray and dream for the future with no to-do list.

No grand reason why I’m sharing this. Perhaps just to inspire another mama that you can be a good mama and still have a moment to yourself (especially after 6 years 😂).

The first Easter sermon was preached by women.
He chose the women who reveal that all their religion and tradition had gotten it wrong.

If you think about it, the design for the female body to carry and sustain life echoes the gospel over and over.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s this GOOD & meaningful design that teaches us lessons to sanctify us and bring us closer to His heart. The heart of a mother toward her child.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To lay down our life, quite literally, for another — daily.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Labour, birth, & breastfeeding push us to our limits. We are broken and there we find the divine strength that only he can provide. And then? We are reborn. A maiden becomes a mother. We understand the heart of God so much more clearly.

What other love would lay down their life for us? 🫶

I (Kathryn) quickly realized that I can’t show up wholeheartedly for you if I’m doing too much and am spread too thin. Kennedy is an answered prayer & will be taking most future daytime postpartum work (don’t worry, if you currently have one with me I’ll be seeing it through 😘). I’ll still be doing overnights, breastfeeding support & focusing in on births!
