March is Nutrition Month, and we’re highlighting the vital role of community dietitians in public health.

Public health dietitians partner with schools and community organizations to build food skills, promote positive relationships with food, and create supportive food environments. They also help identify and respond to barriers to accessing safe, affordable, and culturally appropriate food in our communities.

Visit bchu.org/nutrition or hnhu.org/food-and-nutrition to learn more about nutrition services and get in touch with a dietitian.

Adults living in food‑insecure households are at higher risk for many health problems. These include heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, and other chronic conditions.

When people cannot afford food, it becomes very difficult and sometimes impossible to follow medical advice or manage existing health issues.
