We love mud!!! Mud is one of the richest sensory materials available to children. It builds coordination, immune resilience, problem solving, and emotional regulation. Not to mention it’s free and readily available anywhere there’s dirt and water! 😂

But honestly more than that, it builds memories that last a lifetime.

February’s favourites 📚🤍

A mix of humour, big feelings, seasonal shifts and perspective taking. The kind of books that open conversations without forcing them.

Some for the littles. One for the grown-ups. All of them sparked something meaningful in our space this month.

I used to worry about mess like this.
About the cleanup and how to manage the “chaos”.

Now I see how regulating this kind of play can be.
For kids and honestly for me too!

Sometimes learning looks like paint everywhere and a very focused child.

Mixed-age play doesn’t mean everyone does the same thing. Sometimes it just means finding a role that fits where each child is at. Today, that looked like an apprentice and a very strict toy inspector 😂

Most of these are library books.
Borrowed, loved, returned, borrowed again.

Our shelf isn’t curated to be permanent.
It shifts with curiosity, repetition, and what small hands keep reaching for.

Some books stay for weeks.
Some are done after a day.
Both are fine.
