Some basic history and therapeutic implications:

Salt therapy has ancient medical origins as far back as Hippocrates. In the 19th century, Polish Physician Dr. Boczkowski noticed that salt miners in Wieliczka, Poland, did not suffer from the chronic respiratory illnesses, that were common among other miners. This data prompted him to open the Wieliczka Salt Mine health resort in 1839 to target pleurisy, TB etc
Researchers in Odessa, Ukraine created the first HaloGenerators in 1985 to mimic the salt mine effects produced in natural caves for this therapy to be more accessible. Halotechnology is used world wide for therapeutic uses. Our Halogenerator grinds medical grade saline for 45 minutes to micro sized amounts to be breathed in, which helps clear our bronchial passages. You will be in a relaxing zero gravity chair surrounded by salt lamps, ocean sounds and over 2000 pounds of salt below your feet. Think of all of the therapeutic effects of salt air at the beach, within reach all year round to you!
Salt Therapy is beneficial for:
Sleep issues
General Respiratory Health
Stress relief
Sinusitis
Asthma
Allergies
Eczema
Acne
COPD

"Key Facts about Therapeutic Salt History

Ancient Beginnings: While modern salt therapy gained popularity in the 19th century, the therapeutic use of salt dates back thousands of years. Ancient Greeks, including Hippocrates, recommended inhaling steam from salt water to treat respiratory issues.
19th Century Discovery: The modern era of salt therapy began in the mid-1800s. Polish physician Dr. Feliks Boczkowski noticed that salt miners in Wieliczka, Poland, did not suffer from the chronic respiratory illnesses (like asthma or tuberculosis) common to other miners.
Birth of Speleotherapy (1839): Dr. Boczkowski published his findings in 1843 and founded the first health resort in the Wieliczka Salt Mine in 1839, establishing speleotherapy—the therapeutic practice of spending time in salt caves.
WWII Wartime Observation (1949): During World War II, a German physician, Dr. K.H. Spannahel, observed that people who hid in the Klutert salt caves in Germany during bombing raids experienced significant relief from their asthma and respiratory problems.
Development of Halotherapy (1980s): Because natural salt mines are rare, researchers in the former Soviet Union (Odessa Science Research Institute) created the first halogenerator in 1985. This device grinds salt into tiny particles and disperses them into the air, creating a "dry salt aerosol" that simulates a natural cave environment in a man-made, controlled, and accessible room.
Global Expansion: After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, this "halotechnology" spread to the rest of the world, appearing in spa settings across Europe, Australia, and North America."
