Toes to Bar is a movement that challenges coordination, control, and core strength. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to clean up your reps, focusing on progression and intent will make all the difference!
Key Focus Areas:
• Core
• Hip Flexors
• Lats
These muscle groups work together to create an efficient and controlled kip swing, allowing you to move smoothly through each rep.
Progression Path:
• Start with knee raises to build control and awareness
• Progress to leg raises as strength improves
• Advance to toes to bar once positioning and timing are consistent
• Finally, focus on linking reps together to create a smooth, fluid kip swing
The goal isn’t just to complete the movement; it’s to perform it with rhythm, control, and efficiency!

So we’re opening the doors.
We’re offering a FREE Intro to CrossFit experience at 902 Athletics.
📅 Tuesday, April 7�📅 Thursday, April 9�🕖 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Two guided 1.5-hour sessions designed for beginners. Where our coaches will walk you through the foundational CrossFit movements, how classes run, and help you build confidence in a group setting!
When you sign up, you’ll receive:
• Access to both guided Intro to CrossFit sessions�• 1.5 weeks of unlimited access to all our classes�• Full use of our commercial gym during that time�• An InBody scan to establish your starting point
Whether you’re brand new to CrossFit or just curious to try something different, this is the best way to experience what we do at 902 Athletics.

902 Athletics Quarterfinals
We are proud to have a strong group of athletes representing 902 Athletics in the 2026 CrossFit Quarterfinals.
A total of 20 athletes have qualified across both the Open and Age Group divisions, with many competing in both categories. Which is an impressive achievement and a testament to their hard work and consistency.
Workouts will take place throughout this weekend, and we encourage you to come by and support our athletes as they compete.

CrossFit Movement Series: Overhead Barbell Squat
Key Tips:
• To establish hand width bring the barbell in front of the body with arms extended, widen your grip until the barbell sits in your hip crease. Keeping the same grip width with the bar overhead for optimal stability.
• Feet just outside shoulder width with toes slightly turned out.
•Aim for full depth: hip crease below the top of the knee.
• Actively press the bar overhead and maintain a strong, stable lockout.
• Keep the chest tall and core braced throughout the movement.
Monitor:
• Limited shoulder, thoracic, or ankle mobility may affect bar path and positioning; be mindful and adjust accordingly.
• Watch for the bar drifting forward; it should stay stacked over the midfoot.

Over the course of his training, one of the biggest areas of progress Karen has had the pleasure of witnessing with Bob is his improved mobility and range of motion. These are key components of overall health that often go overlooked, yet play a critical role at every stage of life.
Personal training isn’t just about getting stronger; it’s about enhancing your quality of life. Moving better, feeling better, and making everyday activities easier and more enjoyable.

Joel started 902 Athletics in his parents garage. Realistically, there was probably enough room for two people to work out. 3 Barbells, two sets of rings and one coach.
It grew to over 60 members.
Sure, there was a pool outside the door, and you could often get a cookie from Joel’s mom when you went inside to use the bathroom, but we knew this amazing thing that was built needed a permanent home.
As the movement gained traction, it went from a double garage, to a 2500 sqft facility and now it’s the south shores largest boutique fitness facility.
Now 902 Athletics is a 8,600 sq/ft facility offering CrossFit, Bootcamps, Athletic Training, Personal Training, Supplements & General Fitness for Bridgewater, NS.
There is one thing that hasn’t changed over all these years – the amazing community.
