CANADIAN DENTAL CARE PLAN RENEWAL PROCESS
Starting in March 2025 you will need to renew your coverage before June 1st 2025
Once you have filed your 2024 tax return and received your notice of assessment, you are ready to renew your coverage. You can renew your coverage online via the CDCP website (canada.ca/dental) or through MSCA (My Service Canada Account) OR you can call the 24/7 automated phone service.
For renewal through MSCA:
First you will need to register for a MSCA account. Once that’s done you can sign into that account to start.
Once logged in, click on the “Canadian Dental Care Plan” section and then click on “Renew my coverage”
If you are looking to access your letters in MSCA go to the “Canadian Dental Care Plan” section again but this time select “view my letters”
For renewal via phone through the automated self-serve system:
Call this number 1-833-537-4342
Select preferred language, then press 2
You can also call 1-833-677-6262 to request alternative formats such as large print, Braille, E-text, audio/video and DAISY (digital accessible information system)
Once your renewal application is complete you will receive a determination letter confirming if you are still eligible for coverage under the plan. Make sure to read through that letter to confirm any changes or adjustments to your co-payment level. This could change due to adjusted 2024 family income. If there are any changes to your coverage or co-payment levels, please bring in the letter to your next appointment so your provider is aware.
What information you will need to renew:
Social Insurance Number (SIN)
CDCP member ID (card number)
home and mailing address
marital status (If applicable)
your phone number and your email address
a list of dental coverage through government social programs (if applicable)
When/If you remain covered after the renewal, your coverage will be effective on the renewal start date and will be valid until June 30, 2026.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) will help cover some of the cost of various oral health care services for eligible Canadian residents.
