Mosaic Reiki Ryoho

Mosaic Reiki Ryoho Seriously? A Reiki Master after about 15 hours of study?? Really?? I can do better, and I am!

With the strong foundational teachings of Mikao Usui (the founder and developer of Usui Reiki Ryoho), my 25+ years of experience as a massage therapist and 24 years practicing/20 years teaching Usui Reiki Ryoho, Mosaic Reiki Ryoho is my creation of a hands-on healing and spiritual practice that promotes and supports healing and encourages self-development. Mosaic Reiki Ryoho has 4 levels of traini

ng:
Level One (Shoden - First Teachings)
Level Two (Okuden - Inner Teachings)
Level Three (Hirakimasu - Opening) aka ART
Level Four (Michi - The Way) Master/Teacher training

What inspired me to create Mosaic Reiki Ryoho was the receiving of offers to take online 'Reiki courses' that promised me I could go from being totally ignorant of Reiki to being a Reiki Master with what amounted to a weekend’s focused study. I found this difficult to accept with having taken 3 levels of Reiki Ryoho courses over 2 years followed by a 10-month mentorship (where I learned Mastery is a path, not a destination) to receive my master/teacher designation, and I’m still learning, everyday!! Also, I was troubled by the number of people who had taken courses in Reiki Ryoho, (from myself and others) but were so overwhelmed or so confused by the fast-paced one or two days of instruction that they gave up practicing a week or two after the training course. So, I have taken it upon myself to reformat how I present the Reiki Ryoho courses I offer, from the usually presented 2-day weekend format to 3 hours per evening, one evening per week, for 5 weeks. Also included is online instruction and videos to offer more depth to the presented materials, as well as homework practice. With this format, I believe students will gain a deeper understanding of energy healing and Reiki Ryoho enjoying the better integration of the teachings and practices. I do not want to see the “deer in the headlights” look of information overload in my student's eyes ever again.

Illumination
~from 365 Tao - Daily meditations by Deng Ming-Dao

Fire feeding on fire. Everyone understands that burning wood produces fire. But when fire feeds on fire, that is a rare condition that yields the greatest illumination. Two flames come together and yield light more magnificent than either could have given forth alone.
In the case of community activity, this means that when one cooperates with others, the accomplishments are greater than what the individuals can do on their own. Such a situation requires a harmony that will generate ideas, inspiration, as well as momentum for growth and action. If the combinations occur properly, the results will be like fire upon fire and will illuminate the world.
Sometimes, the combination comes down to just two people. If two people join forces, neither sacrificing their individuality, but only lending their power to an endeavor, there will be a wonderful situation that will both benefit others and encourage greater growth in the two people as well.
Fire feeding on fire can also mean the swift exhaustion of all energies involved. One must be careful not to lose one’s own personality in any joining.
The idea is integration, not assimilation. No matter what can be achieved in joining with others, it is wise to remember that we each walk this path independently. The ultimate truth of the journey and its final rewards are still for each of us to face alone.

Renewal

City on a hill,
Untouched land beyond.
A fallow field is The secret of fertility.

In the city, we see millions of lives represented in the windows, doors, and many
floors of each building. We see excitement and the glories of civilization. But no
matter how much those who follow Tao may enjoy the city, they understand the
need for retreat into nature.
In the countryside, they find the nurturing quality of freedom. They can see
new possibilities and can wander without societal impositions. In the past,
pioneers saw the open prairies and were filled with dreams of dominating nature
with the glories of man. Now we know different: We must preserve the wilds for
our very survival.
We need time to lie fallow. If you cannot leave the city, just find a little quiet
time each day to withdraw into yourself. If you are able to walk in fields or in
the hills, so much the better. But none of us can maintain the fertility of our
beings without renewal.

Sound

Wind in the cave:
Movement in stillness.
Power in silence.

In a cave, all outer sounds are smothered by rock and earth, but this makes the sounds of one’s own heartbeat and breath audible. In the same way, contemplative stillness turns us away from everyday clamor but allows us to hear the subtle in our own lives.
When listening not with the ear but with the spirit, one can perceive the subtle sound. By entering into that sound, we enter into supreme purity. That is why so many religious traditions pray, sing, or chant as a prelude to silence.
They understand that the repetition and absorption of sound leads to sacredness itself.
The deepest sound is silence. This may seem paradoxical only if we regard silence as an absence of life and vibration. But for a meditator, silence is sound unified with all of its opposites. It is both sound and soundlessness, and it is in this confluence that the power of meditation emerges.

She brought a leaf in exchange for my barbecue skewers. As I tended to the sizzling grill, I noticed her standing there—a small, scruffy dog with eyes that held a world of stories. Her fur was matted, and her ribs peeked through, evidence of a life filled with struggle. Yet, despite it all, she had a certain grace about her.

I watched as she observed the bustling crowd around my food cart. People came and went, their hurried footsteps echoing on the pavement. Some stopped to buy my skewers, others simply glanced and moved on. But she stayed, her gaze unwavering.

It was then that I realized she wasn't just hungry for food; she hungered for connection. She studied each customer—their expressions, their interactions, their kindness or lack thereof. And in that moment, I saw her vulnerability. She wasn't just a stray dog; she was a survivor, a silent observer of human behavior.

I decided to offer her a skewer. She hesitated at first, as if unsure whether to trust this unexpected act of kindness. But when she took the meat from my hand, her eyes softened. It was more than a leaf; it was a bridge between two worlds—the world of humans and the world of animals.

From that day on, she became a regular visitor. She'd bring me leaves, twigs, even a flower once. Each offering was her way of saying, 'Thank you.' And in return, I'd give her a skewer, our silent pact unspoken but understood.

As the seasons changed, so did our bond. She'd curl up near my cart, seeking warmth on chilly evenings. Sometimes, she'd nudge my hand, reminding me that she was there. And I'd stroke her head, feeling the rough texture of her fur, knowing that our connection transcended words.

People passing by would smile at our unlikely friendship. Some even snapped photos, capturing the essence of compassion in that simple exchange. But they didn't know the whole story—the nights when she'd disappear, returning with scars from street fights, or the moments when she'd look at me with eyes that held both gratitude and longing.

One day, she didn't show up. I waited, hoping she'd return, but she never did. Perhaps she found a forever home, or maybe she moved on to another corner of the city. Either way, I like to believe that our shared moments made a difference—for her and for me.

So, if you ever pass by my skewer cart and see a leaf tucked among the sizzling meat, know that it's not just a leaf. It's a memory, a lesson, a reminder that even in the simplest gestures, there's a connection waiting to be forged 🌿🐾
