My essential therapy tool is the iPad; it has so much versatility for a range of speech and language goals! Yesterday it was used to model home related vocabulary on a child’s AAC app (Proloquo2Go) and as biofeedback using the staRt app with a client working on shaping the /r/ sound.

Not shown here is it being used for tracking words we modelled during a treatment approach for late talkers, and also for documentation, booking appointments and billing insurance!

‼️ Did you know some insurance plans include speech therapy? I offer direct billing with a variety of insurance providers to help make speech-language services more accessible and stress-free. This picture is just a sample! Please note that individual coverage varies by plan.

Switch adapted toys are now added to our clinic for our clients exploring switch access or who benefit from a good toy hack! This could look like a child who struggles to apply the pressure to squeeze a stuffy, or can’t quite activate a tiny button on a toy with their fingers. Switches can be accessed with a whole hand, a foot, an elbow, a head, etc etc! Thank you to Makers Making Change for making play more accessible. If you’re not already familiar with their work, check them out at www.makersmakingchange.com.

AAC can support spoken language development. This is my little one using a screenshot of Proloquo2Go that we have on the fridge to ask for “cottage cheese”. She says “cheese” but is still learning to combine a variety of words in a way that others can understand. Visual supports reduce frustration and make communication successful while sounds in speech are still developing. Do you use communication visuals at home? What’s one way they’ve reduced frustration for your loved one? 🤔 Let us know in the comments! ⬇️

✨ Opening March 2026 ✨
I’m excited to finally share that my speech-language pathology (SLP) private practice is opening in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, this March 🎉

I work with children who:
•use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
• need extra, direct support for speech sound disorders (k/g sounds, l sounds, r sounds, final sounds in words, etc.)
•are learning to communicate using total communication
•benefit from mobility, sensory, or CVI-informed accommodations

I know families already have so much on their plates—appointments, work, advocating, and everything in between. My goal is to reduce barriers, not add to them. I offer:
📍 Convenient location in Bridgewater
🧾 Direct billing to select insurers
🌙 Evening availability
🚗 Limited mobile visits
💻 Virtual sessions (when appropriate)

My practice is:
👤 Individualized and client centred
🎈Engaging and fun
♾️ Neurodiversity-affirming
🧠 Evidence-based

If this sounds like the kind of support your child (or a child you love) might need, I’d love to connect.
👉 Comment “INFO” or send me a DM to be notified when scheduling opens.
