Our community is grieving after an act of violence that has shaken so many of us to the core. In small rural towns, tragedies like this don’t feel distant—they ripple through families, friendships, and daily life.

Many people are sitting with intense emotions right now: shock, anger, confusion, fear, sadness, or numbness. Men (and women) often feel the pressure to “stay strong” and carry on. Please know that what you’re feeling is a human response to something deeply distressing.

If you’re finding this hard to carry, you don’t have to do it alone. Talking with someone you trust, taking time away from the news, and seeking professional support are all valid and strong choices. As men, we need to model that it’s okay to reach out for help.

Please, check-in with your family, friends, & neighbours - nobody needs to endure this alone, that simple gesture can impact a life more than you know.

My thoughts are with everyone impacted by this tragedy. Help is available, and reaching out is a sign of bravery—not weakness.
