โžก๏ธRegister for free Mental Health First Aid Training

Parents and caregivers of North Grenville are invited to register for free Mental Health First Aid Training led by the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health Team.

Teens face numerous stressors that can sometimes put them at risk of anxiety, depression, or substance use challenges. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, early-intervention course that teaches parents and caregivers about mental health and substance use challenges. The training will provide parents and caregivers with the language and strategies necessary to engage the youth(s) in their lives about mental health and substance use. If you have questions about how to talk with your teen(s) about mental health, this is your opportunity!

The free Mental Health First Aid Training is courtesy of the Municipality of North Grenville. The training is open to 18 parents/caregivers and will take place on Friday, March 13th, 2026, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre โ€“ Suite B.

โ„๏ธ Weโ€™re Walking in the Coldest Night of the Year! โ„๏ธ

Our amazing staff will once again be participating in the Coldest Night of the Year on Saturday, February 28, 2026, walking in Brockville (Leeds & Grenville) and Lanark to support local organizations serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

Weโ€™re proud to cheer on our two teams as they bundle up, show community spirit, and walk for a cause that matters deeply to all of us. ๐Ÿ’™

Funds raised through the Leeds & Grenville walk will support John Howard Society of Kingston and District while funds raised through the Lanark walk will support Cornerstone Landing.

If youโ€™d like to support this important cause, donations can be made here:

Yesterday was Bell Letโ€™s Talk Day, but the conversation doesnโ€™t have to end.

Our staff shared meaningful mental health statistics, words of encouragement, and personal reflections inside the Bell Letโ€™s Talk speech bubble โ€” reminding us why these discussions matter yearโ€‘round. ๐Ÿ’™
Weโ€™re also grateful to Bell Let's Talk for providing the impactful swag that helps keep this important conversation going.

Bell Letโ€™s Talk Day โ€” a moment for mental health. ๐Ÿ’™

This initiative plays an important role in raising awareness and reminding us that talking about mental health truly matters. Weโ€™re thankful for the national spotlight Bell creates each year.

At LLGAMH, weโ€™re proud to be part of that conversation โ€” and to walk alongside our community every day with mental health and addictions support when itโ€™s needed most.

Your mental health matters โ€” today and every day. ๐Ÿ’™

At LLGAMH, weโ€™re committed to fostering a workplace and community where open conversations about mental health are encouraged and supported. Checking in with ourselves, noticing how weโ€™re feeling, and reaching out when we need support are important steps in maintaining overall well-being.

Here are a few gentle reminders for today:
โœจ You deserve compassion โ€” from others and from yourself.
โœจ Taking a moment to breathe, pause, or rest is productive.
โœจ Small supports can make a big difference.
โœจ Reaching out is a sign of strength, never weakness.

Whether youโ€™re having a calm day, a heavy day, or anything in between, remember youโ€™re not alone. Together, we can help create a caring, connected community that prioritizes mental wellness year-round.
If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to our team or access local mental health resources.

Weโ€™re proud to continue our partnership with Brockville Police to deliver the Community Outreach Program. Thanks to Ontario government grant funding, our Community Outreach Worker, Darla David, works alongside police to connect individuals facing mental health and addictions challenges with the community supports they need.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is pleased to announce that the temporary warming centre in Brockville Ontario will relocate to a new facility at 166 Pearl Street East. The space will be located in the vacant EarlyON Centre at the vacant Commonwealth Public School, which has a separate entrance on the East side of the building. The new space will open at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026. This change will better serve individuals accessing the warming centre during the coldest months of the year.

The warming centre will remain staffed by two support workers and will be monitored by on-site security personnel, operating seven days a week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Those using the warming centre will have access to water, coffee, light snacks, gravity chairs, and blankets, paired with intensive case management.

โ€œWe are thankful to the Upper Canada District School Board for granting us temporary access to this facility. This new location allows us to provide a safe and more comfortable environment for those using the centre and we are continuing to work toward a permanent solution,โ€ said Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke. โ€œOur priority remains protecting life and safety, and we appreciate the communityโ€™s support as we make these improvements.โ€

The Counties wish to thank the residents of 55 Reynolds Drive and the broader community for their patience and understanding as we worked to secure a more suitable space.

As a reminder, the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health (LLGAMH), Drop-In Centre have extended hours to better serve clients. The Drop-In, located at 25 Front Avenue West, South Entrance, is now open 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., seven days a week until April 30, 2026. Clients can access the Drop-In for a safe, warm, and welcoming place to access basic needs such as laundry and shower facilities and cellphone charging.
