đź’™Supporting HART Hub clients along their unique recovery journeysđź’™

We are continuing to spotlight our most frequently asked questions. Do you have a question about the HART Hub? Please share it with us via our website.

Today’s question: Do you have to be sober to become a client at the HART Hub?

➡️ No, clients do not need to be sober when coming to the HART Hub. The Hub will offer withdrawal management care, followed by addictions treatment and supportive housing—all in one place.

As with all LLGAMH programs and properties, clients will be expected to refrain from using substances on site and to treat others with respect.

We recognize that everyone’s recovery journey is different. The HART Hub team will support each client along their unique recovery journey, helping them at every point to reach their goals.

Are you struggling to stop a behaviour that’s affecting your life?

Process addictions—like gambling, excessive internet or video game use, po*******hy, cellphone games, or shopping—can affect people in many of the same ways as substance use.

With a process addiction, you may notice:

• Feeling a loss of control
• Loved ones expressing concern
• Problems in relationships or finances
• The behaviour consuming your time, energy, and focus
• Consequences for your mental health (e.g. depression, anxiety)

A good start is to book time with a psychotherapist to explore what’s happening in your life, the impact of engaging in the behaviour, and how you’d like to move forward.

Free, confidential support is available.

We’re pleased to share a recent interview on Cogeco’s Yourtv Brockville featuring our CEO, Kim Gifford, and Program Director, Chris Curry, discussing the future HART Hub.

They address many of the questions we’ve been hearing from the community and offer insight into how the HART Hub will expand recovery treatment capacity across the region.

đź’™ The HART Hub is designed for a community setting đź’™

Next up in our FAQ series: Why aren’t the HART Hub services offered within the hospital?

➡️ The HART Hub model was designed to lower access barriers by providing individuals with community-based addictions recovery treatment and support over an extended period of time that prepares them to rebuild their lives in the community.

Hospitals provide fundamental addictions and mental health care that are an integral part of the continuum of care. The HART Hub complements that care by offering accessible, community-based options for people who may not need—or have already completed—inpatient treatment but would still benefit from ongoing structured support.

🕊️ Remembrance Day Tribute – Honouring Service and Sacrifice 🕊️

As Remembrance Day approaches, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country—clients, staff, and community members alike. At LLGAMH, we recognize that the impact of military service can extend far beyond the battlefield, often leaving lasting effects on mental health and well-being.

Let us come together to remember, reflect, and support one another—because healing begins with connection.
