We regret to announce that our Nursing Formal is cancelled. Refunds will be provided as soon as the school and SAC reopen, until then, we appreciate your patience. Thank you for the support you have provided this year and we look forward to planning an exciting year for 2020-2021!

The 2020 Nursing Formal will be held on Friday, March 27, from 8-12 in the school gymnasium! There will be appetizers, dancing, a photo booth, and the bar!
Early bird pricing this week ONLY is $5/ticket and $10/guest, and every other week will be $10/ticket and $15/guest!
We will be selling tickets once a week on campus CASH ONLY, starting this Wednesday!

Thursday: Nursing Speaker Night - join us from 6-9pm in the SAC lounge to hear from a variety of nursing speakers!

On June 7th the BScN graduating class will be attending their pinning ceremony. The pinning ceremony is a symbolic welcoming into the nursing profession. The graduating students will be presented with a nursing pin from Laurentian University upon their completion of the BScN program.

If there is anyone interested in volunteering at the pinning ceremony this year please contact GWhite28@student.sl.on.ca

Hello again! So BLOOD DONATION TIME AGAIN!
This month will be:
when: March 25th (Monday)
Where: Brockville memorial centre (begins the school)
How many: 15 spots
Why: to save a life
Start time is 4:00PM
If you are interesting in going, bring some friends and go over as a group! It is an amazing thing to do and you can LITERALLY save a life. If interested just text me at 613-213-1273 with your name, saying that you will be going at 4pm on Monday! And I will report back to Canadian Blood Services with our numbers!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our fundraising events.
We were able to raise a little over $600 for Tiffany Keeler’s son Declan’s trust fund.

Declan came to visit SLC this week where the second year class was able to present Tiffany’s family with the donation.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out to donate blood tonight! It is a selfless thing to do that helps people in need ❤️ the clinic was very full tonight and unfortunately they could not take any extra people who had signed up so I’m sorry about that... it just depends on the night! But thank you so much to all of the RPN and BScN students who donated! 😊

Hi EVERYBODY! Do you want to help save lives? Well, I have a great opportunity for you! Next Monday, NOVEMBER 26TH at 3:30PM I will be taking a group of students to the Brockville Memorial Centre to donate blood. This is open to all students, not just nursing students. So if you want to go, bring a friend! It is a great opportunity, and it is an amazing thing to do to help people in need this holiday season :) Here's the plan... - Meet me (Billie-Jo) in the student lounge (where the SAC office is) at 3:45 and we will walk to the memorial centre together to be there for 3:55PM -If you have donated blood before, bring your donor card so its faster for you, if not the process is approximately 15 minutes - The weight requirements are at least 110 pounds - Bring your ID and student card! **If you are interested please email me at blewis69@student.sl.on.ca with your name just so I know approximately how many people I will have with me** I'm donating too! Please email me and come with :) P.S. This is just to clarify because of the recent legalization of ma*****na, but on the Canadian Blood Services website it states "If you are sober, show no evidence of intoxication and can give informed consent, you are eligible to donate. Prior to these changes, donors had to wait 12 hours after their resolution of intoxication. Many people believe that they are deferred because of past ma*****na use, but that is not the case." (Canadian Blood Services, August 2018).
