We are an Independent Living community for seniors in beautiful Brooklin, Ontario, Canada.

Christmas is a time of Giving!
Thanks to our Residents' Council and their monthly 50/50 draw, they donated $1700 to Feed the Need in Durham. This amount will provide a great many meals to people who need it over the holidays and beyond.

Holiday cheer was in full swing at our family holiday celebration!

Residents reveled in the season’s cheer and enjoyed celebrating together. Our pictures with Santa and the family feast says it all!
Thank you Santa Bob and helper elf Wendy and thank you to Meredith for the beautiful sounds of the season.

Seeing all these smiling faces makes our winter days so much brighter! ️

❄️ We had a wonderful time at our Holiday Soirée Social Series event! Residents gathered in their seasonal attire and enjoyed the beloved holiday tunes of the Singsations in their festive fare!

It was an unforgettable celebration of community, friendship and the season’s sweetest treats. So much eggnog, apple cider and hot chocolate! Yum!☕

Since our Coats and Kindness Social Series event in November, we have been collecting winter coats for the Simcoe Hall Settlement House. It was founded in 1935 and since then, they have actively provided wellness opportunities through food banks and programs to serve people in Oshawa and throughout Durham Region who experience financial and social challenges.

I'm happy to say we collected over 52 winter coats, jackets and winter apparel for adults and children.

Thank you to all the people who helped make this event such a success! Your donations will be put to good use for people who really need them.

We came together for a day of creativity and sharing during our Community Learning Fair. The knowledge and know-how of our employees and residents wowed us! From painting to weaving to meditation to genealogy, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Some of the stand outs were Ingrid and Yvonne who did beautiful folk art before they lost their sight. But Doreen tops it all with her saddle and chaps from her farm and cattle days. Thank you Everyone for sharing your knowledge with us! We are truly a talented group of people!

The centre of Don's decor is his spare room where his wall of pride says it all. "Family is the most important thing." Step inside Don’s apartment for a quick tour! From his bedroom to his office space where he displays the items from his army days, every corner shows off his creativity and charm.

Opa!

Home of the Acropolis, the Olympic games and the birthplace of western civilization, the country of Greece has made countless contributions to the world we live in. But one of the best contributions is the food.

Our Taste Greece event featured classic spanakopita, chicken souvlaki, Greek salad, tzatziki and pita. And for dessert? Why, baklava cheesecake of course!

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination in January!

It may be getting colder outside, but we kept things toasty with our Coats & Kindness Social Series event!

We enjoyed a winterwear fashion show thanks to "You & Me Fashion" from the Whitby Mall, seasonal treats and a decadent affogato bar as we collected coats and warm items to donate to Simcoe Settlement House. The stars of the show strut their stuff with confidence!

We can't think of a better way to stay cozy and help others!

On Remembrance Day, our community came together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country.

Residents gathered to share stories before our moment of silence, pay tribute to the veterans who call our communities home – and those whose courage continues to inspire us.

This afternoon we had a formal Remembrance Day ceremony with representatives from MPP Lorne Coe's office and MP Juanita Nathan's office. Thank you to Deputy Mayor Rhonda Mulcahy for your kind words and from the members of the Brooklin Legion for your visit.
Barbara led our annual candle lighting ceremony in honor of our Veterans and we shared in a memorable social afterwards.

To all who have served: Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. We remember. ❤️
