HEREâŹď¸
Confession time from your neighbourhood nutritionist⌠đââď¸
Over the winter, my weight trended up a wee bit.
I pulled out my summer clothes and letâs just say⌠theyâre feeling a little snug these days. đ
Yes⌠nutritionists are human too. We donât magically live on kale and discipline.
So Iâm going back to the basics that help me feel like myself again.
Here are 5 things Iâm focusing on right now:
1ď¸âŁ Eating BEFORE walking the dog.
I realized I was walking first and eating later. Switching it up so I move AFTER meals = better blood sugar balance, energy, and digestion.
2ď¸âŁ Portion reality check.
Gentle reminder to self: Ido NOT need to eat the same portions as my husband.
Iâm not obsessing over it, but I am paying more attention.
3ď¸âŁ Water.
Making sure that for sure⌠I am getting my water in and ACTUALLY measuring it.
4ď¸âŁ 15 minutes of breathing room.
The birds are singing. The sun is out.
Iâm spending at least 15 minutes a day to breathe, clear my mind, and notice the beauty around me.
5ď¸âŁ Building balanced meals.
Making sure each meal includes a healthy balance of protein, fibre, and healthy fats.
Nothing fancy. Just the stuff that actually helps keep energy, cravings, and mood more steady.
No extremes.
No âsummer bodyâ nonsense.
Just small habits that help me feel stronger, calmer, and more comfortable in my own skin again.
