✨ Focus first on optimizing your nutrition — Build your plate around whole, seasonal foods. Prioritize quality proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of fiber-rich vegetables to naturally support your body’s detox pathways before adding anything else.

I’m Abigail Bauman, a child & teen therapist who’s all about helping kids, tweens, and teens feel seen, safe, and understood — especially when big emotions show up and life feels overwhelming.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining the growing pediatric division of Cobblestone, working alongside our wonderful counsellors — including our other Child Therapist, Fran!

My sessions aren’t your typical “sit and talk” therapy. We build a real connection first, because nothing good happens until a kid feels comfortable being their full, silly, messy, amazing self.
That means we play, draw, move around, tell stories, act things out, and sometimes bring in favourite books, shows, or characters to help us chat about feelings in a way that actually feels fun (not scary or boring!).

Hey Cobblestone Fam 💙

Yesterday I watched something special that honestly gave me chills — and this time, it was my own 9-year-old son.
He exploded off the blocks for his 200m endurance swim. Perfect dive… but the moment he hit the water, his goggles burst at the nose piece and became totally unusable.
He had never swum in a chlorine pool without goggles before.
Most kids would have stopped and climbed out right there. But not him.
With burning eyes and blurry vision, he kept stroking. He kept fighting. He finished every single meter of that race.
It wasn’t his fastest time… but man, it might be one of the proudest moments I’ve ever witnessed as a dad.

This is what I love most about watching these young athletes grow. It’s not the easy days that shape you. It’s these moments — when things fall apart the second you start and you still choose to keep going.

To every athlete reading this (and especially our young warriors):
When life (or the pool) throws you a curveball right from the beginning, remember this. Dig deep, stay tough, and finish what you started.

That’s how you become unstoppable.

Feeling those tight, stiff shoulders lately? You’re not alone — we’ve seen a surge of them in the clinic this week!
Here’s why your shoulders might be feeling restricted:
• Poor posture & desk life — Hours hunched over computers, phones, or steering wheels pull your shoulders forward, tightening the chest muscles while weakening the upper back.
• Stress & tension — Your body’s “fight or flight” response loves to park extra tension in the neck and shoulders. Chronic stress keeps those muscles clenched.
• Overuse or repetitive movements — Whether it’s manual work, sports, or even carrying bags/kids, the same motions day after day can overload the muscles and tendons.
• Previous injuries or surgery — Scar tissue and protective muscle guarding can limit mobility long after the initial issue heals.
• Sedentary habits or sleeping positions — Lack of movement + awkward sleep postures add up fast.
• Underlying issues — Things like muscle imbalances, thoracic spine stiffness, or (less commonly) conditions such as frozen shoulder or osteoarthritis.
The good news? Most cases respond really well to targeted mobility exercises, posture resets, and chiropractic care that addresses the root cause — not just the symptoms.
Dr. Joscycline shared some simple at-home moves in our last post — save them and start incorporating them daily!
