Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation 💙 Supporting health care across Newfoundland’s scenic Burin Peninsula—“the boot” 🥾. Incorporated in 1991, The Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation Inc.

Proud partner of NL Health Services, helping 20,000+ residents in our beautiful coastal communities thrive through community care, compassion & commitment. (BPHCF) is a philanthropic partner of Newfoundland and Labrador's Eastern Health Board Authority. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, our mission is to compliment traditional funding sources in support of local health care centers and patients living in remote and rural areas on the Burin Peninsula. Our programs and fundraising campaigns are designed to ensure support goes directly to our local health care centers to improve the quality of care for our patients and long term care residents. Our primary areas of focus include Mental Health & Addictions, Patient Comfort & Care, Chemotherapy, Dialysis, Rehabilitation, Women's Health, Pregnancy & Infant Loss, and Pediatrics. Health Care Centers on the Burin Peninsula that we support include: Burin Peninsula Health Care Center, Burin; US Memorial Health Care Center, St. Lawrence; Dr. S. Beckley Health Care Center, Grand Bank; Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank; Placentia West Medical Clinic, Boat Harbour and other various Community Health Sites located on the Burin Peninsula.

‼ UPDATE ‼ Our upcoming sessions in both Burin and Grand Bank are full. Seats are still available for our St. Lawrence session on November 4th at the Parish Hall at 4pm. Thank you!! ‼

Our first Women’s Wellness Session of the season kicked off with a full house at the beautiful Tea Rose Café in Boat Harbour this evening! ☕️

Participants enjoyed Preventative Screening Education with Dr. Matt Kennedy and Dr. Lyn Power, followed by relaxing Chair Yoga with Rhonda Scott of Eartha Wellness. We wrapped up the evening with Pap testing and mammogram referrals at the Placentia West Clinic - and of course, a delicious spread of homemade soup, sandwiches, and desserts prepared by the lovely team at the Tea Rose Café! 🥰

A heartfelt thank-you to the Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health for sponsoring this event, and to all the healthcare providers and NLHS staff who make these sessions possible. 🙌

💜 We still have seats available for our upcoming sessions in Burin and St. Lawrence!

💙🩷👶 Thanks to the generosity of our community, local businesses, and monthly donors, we’re proud to share the purchase of a new fridge designed especially for the safe storage of breast milk.

Safe breast milk storage is so important. It protects vital nutrients and ensures babies get the very best start in life. This fridge supports Baby Friendly Initiatives within NL Health Services, helping new moms feel confident and supported as they begin their breastfeeding journeys. 🥰

📸 A special thank-you to our local nurses, Kelsey Stapleton and Haley Kelly, for being part of this moment and for all the ways they support families each day. 💜

Because of you - our donors - families in our region have access to the right tools at the right time. Thank you for making this possible! 🏥👏🥰

✨ On World Su***de Prevention Day, we were proud to support another offering of safeTALK training on the Burin Peninsula. 🌟

Ten new trainers are now equipped to share life-saving skills, spark important conversations, and foster hope in our communities. Su***de prevention often happens in the quiet moments, through listening, connection, and care. And these new trainers will help create even more of those moments across the region. 💜🧡

A heartfelt thank you to Denika Ward for leading this important workshop with such compassion and expertise. 🙏

We’re also grateful to the Marystown Lions Club for partnering with us to make opportunities like this possible. Together, we’re building stronger, safer, and more supportive communities. 🫶🏻
