🌟 Feature Friday – Meet Our New Executive Chef: Sanil Kurian Mathew
Born and raised in Kerala, India, a region celebrated for its rich culture and vibrant cuisine, Sanil Kurian Mathew discovered his love for food and community early on, sparking his journey in hospitality. With a Bachelor’s in Hotel Management and a Master’s in Hospitality, Sanil brings skill, creativity, and professionalism to every kitchen he leads.
Throughout his career, Sanil has worked with internationally renowned brands such as Marriott, Taj, and Sheraton, just to name a few. He also spent nine years as a Chief Cook, during which he survived a dramatic pirate chase across the Indian Ocean, an incredible story he loves to share.
Since moving to Canada, Sanil has delivered exceptional dining experiences ranging from luxury hospitality to resident focused care. He earned his Red Seal Endorsement at LaSalle and has been a cornerstone of our home for many years. The culinary team adores him for his strong work ethic, his ability to lead with care, and his good sense of humor that keeps the team in good spirits and motivated every day.
Outside the kitchen, Sanil enjoys watching movies, fishing, gardening, and spending quality time with his wife, Asha Ann, and their three children. Sanil’s journey is proof that passion, dedication, and heart can take you anywhere!
