On Sunday, November 2, the clocks go back one hour. It can take a few days to a week to adjust to the time change. Keep in mind that more easy-going children may not be impacted by this change.
Tips for daylight savings:
👉 If you have a more sensitive child, you may need to plan ahead and adjust bedtime slowly over a few days in 15-minute increments. So if your baby/child goes to bed at 7 pm, push back bedtime by 15 minutes every day until you get to 8 pm, which will be the new 7 pm.
👉 Use light and darkness to your advantage. When you want your child to be asleep, keep them in the dark. When you want them awake, bring them into the light.
👉 Keep bedtime routines the same as always.
👉 For more easy going chidren, you may not have to adjust anything. It may just be a matter of putting your child to bed slightly later on the night of the time change.
Try not to worry. Your child's sleep will get back to normal in no time. The important thing is to go with the flow!
