Neck and shoulder stretches for the office

1. Trapezius stretch - sit with your best posture. Tilt your ear to shoulder. Place your hand on your temple and apply gentle pressure to increase the stretch to your neck and shoulder. Hold this position for 30 seconds.

2. Turn your head to one side. Look down towards your armpit. Place a hand on the back of your head and apply gentle pressure. Feel the stretch to the posterior neck and shoulder. Hold for 30 seconds.

3. Sitting in your chair, make two thumbs up. Turn your thumbs away from each other and point them to the wall behind you. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and sit tall.

4. Standing in a doorway, make a box with your arms, elbows and shoulders at 90 degrees. Step through the doorway keeping your focus at eye level. Feel the stretch to the front of your chest.

Tight hip flexors? Try this:

Lie on your back. Place a yoga block or tightly rolled up towel under your sacrum. Raise one leg towards the ceiling. A slight bend in the knee is ok. Support the raised leg with a strap. Rest here for several minutes. Feel that tight psoas let go!
