Dock sickness! Have you ever had it?! It’s a thing!!!

Every once in a while my vestibular condition reminds me that I’m not an average Joe. It reminds me that I have certain challenges that others don’t. And it’s taken me years to accept this and realize that IT’S OK!!!

The first few days of being at the cottage I enjoyed the dock during the days. Swimming, laughing, playing and sitting and enjoying the sites. Seems normal right?! Well the evenings have not been so fun as I have felt like I’m on a boat and my balance has been all off. Popping gravol was a must 2 nights in a row to get through the motion sickness.

Yesterday I decided to take a break from the dock which helped immensely. So today I set myself up on the ground and plan on limiting my times on the dock to see if that helps and of course having my bare feet grounding in the earth will help with my stability.

Anyone else experience this? Any tips and tricks to help with the motion sickness? I wonder if sea bands would work? 🤔

Fast Food!

I had 20 minutes to make dinner tonight before taking my daughter to volleyball.

Lentil stir fry it was.

I quickly chopped up some veggies as I made rice and then sautéed it together and threw some lentils in and added avocado into the bowl. Et voila!!!! Dinner was done in 15 mins. 👏👏👏👏

My goal for 2024!

I keep calling it “The year of the Channy”! And there is a reason for that! I’m just straight up sick of putting myself last. I’m sick of feeling guilty for things I shouldn’t feel guilty for. I’m sick of never having time for myself. I’m sick of not always feeling great! I’m sick of having regrets and saying things like “I should have done ###”. I’m sick of it all!

There is a pivot and a shift happening and I can feel it, I can feel it deep down inside of me! I’m not sure what that means or looks like for my career, business or personal life.
All I know is that I’m being called to go inwards and open myself up and figure some stuff out. In the meantime I am becoming #1 and I am going to do all the things for me to figure out what my future holds.

So I begin with self care! Me time! Slowing things down and doing things I enjoy doing! I’m pretty fu***ng excited about it 🤗🥰❤️

We tend to only think of making deviled eggs for parties or events when we are hosting. What about just making them for a super impactful high protein snack just for yourself! 😉

I whipped these babies up in less then 15 minutes. I enjoyed 3 halves with the rest of the most amazing pickle 🤤. And now my girls have a great snack waiting for them when they come home from school today. 💪

I’d say that’s a win win!

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🍂🦃

This was my plate last night as we celebrated thanksgiving at my parents last night. It was DELICIOUS 🤤

Do you pick “your poisons” at holiday dinners or do you indulge in everything?

I usually opt out of mashed potatoes because I’ll be honest I’m not a huge potato fan. And I’m obsessed with stuffing and gravy so I kinda choose to save myself for those things instead.

Here are some tips if you want to indulge in everything (which is more then ok and you should never feel guilty about)

🦃 Do not skip meals that day leading up to the big meal
🦃 drink plenty of water throughout the day and make sure you are hydrated. Also do so the day after.
🦃 get extra movement and activity in throughout the day to compensate for the extra calories and do so the next day as well
🦃 if you want to indulge in everything that is totally ok just perhaps make those portions smaller so you don’t stuff yourself.

My favourite breakfast is for always the paleo porridge. I mix up the ingredients based on what I currently have but omg this one was soooooo yummy!
* I always start with softening up some chia seeds with warm water
* coconut yogurt
* almond butter
* wild blueberries
* 1/2 banana
* flax meal sprinkled on top
* keto nut and seed mix
* topped off with cinnamon

This keeps me satiated for HOURS and it just feels so good in my tum tums 🥰
