Sleep is so important as we know for our bodies; general physical upkeep of the body, good for immunity and metabolism, reduces the risk of disease.
It's equally important for our mind and mental health; it affects emotions and social interactions, can improve concentration and productivity, can affect focus, learning and memory.
So when we don't get enough sleep it can be a tough day emotionally. Irritability, lack of coping, heightened sadness or worry and it takes more energy to manage everything.
Relaxation is also so beneficial for our mental health and well-being. It builds self-awareness, lowers heart rate, increases imagination and creativity, increases patience, increases tolerance, helps build coping skills and problem solving skills.
Don't forget to schedule in some relaxation into your family's day to reap the benefits.
