Coming back from the holidays, you might find that your routine has gone out the window, and stress may have piled up. If you're looking to reset your hormones and get back on track, remember, it's normal for routines to shift during the holidays, and getting back on track might take some time.

Small, consistent changes can go a long way in resetting your hormones and promoting overall well-being.

🔆Waking up: When you wake up, a hormone called cortisol is at its highest about 30-45 minutes later. The earlier you get up, the earlier this hormone peak happens.

☀️Light exposure: Getting natural sunlight in the morning helps set your body's internal clock and keeps cortisol levels in check. Sunlight basically tells your body, "Hey, it's time to be awake and alert!"

🍳Breakfast: Eating a good breakfast helps control your blood sugar levels. If you skip breakfast or eat sugary, not-so-healthy stuff, your blood sugar can go up and down, and cortisol jumps in to regulate it.

🚴‍♀️Exercise: Moving your body in the morning can temporarily increase cortisol, but that's a normal response to stress. The cool thing is, regular exercise actually helps your body manage cortisol better overall.

☕Caffeine: Having coffee or tea with caffeine can give a short-term boost to cortisol levels. How much and when you have your caffeine can affect how it influences cortisol.

Cortisol is not directly an anti-fertility hormone, but it can play a role in reproductive health. Cortisol is a steroid hormone that is produced by the adrenal glands in response to stress.

While cortisol itself is not specifically an anti-fertility hormone, high levels of stress and cortisol can disrupt the normal hormonal balance in the body, affecting the menstrual cycle in women and s***m production in men.

In women, irregular menstrual cycles or even the absence of menstruation (amenorrhea) can occur. In men, elevated cortisol levels may contribute to decreased testosterone production and s***m quality.

The holidays got you thinking about candy, pie, turkey, etc etc.? Let's set the record straight! 💪

❌ Myth 1: All Fats Are Bad
Wrongo! Good fats are like superheroes. Think avocados, nuts, flaxseeds, and olive oil. But beware of their evil twin, saturated fats lurking in crisps and fast food. They're the real enemy!

❌ Myth 2: Fats Make You Gain Weight
False alarm! Healthy fats won't make you pack on pounds. In fact, they can help manage those stubborn perimenopausal and menopausal ones. They keep you feeling fuller longer, so you eat less overall. Score!

❌ Myth 3: Fats Are Bad for Hormones
Not even close! Good fats are hormone-friendly. They support balance, keeping adult acne and other flare-ups at bay. Who knew?

Ready to embrace the good stuff? Start with salmon – rich in omega-3 fats, selenium, and antioxidants that give your body cancer-fighting powers!

🎁 Don't let guilt ruin your holiday fun! Remember, fats are not the enemy. So pick your fat wisely and have a goooood time this season! 🍗🥧

Absolutely! During perimenopause, though fertility decreases, it's still possible to get pregnant.
Periods may be inconsistent but your ovaries are still producing eggs although the egg quality may be lower and the pregnancy supporting hormones may not be at optimal levels. But it can still happen.

Dr. Wiley may recommend natural approaches such as hormonal balance, nutritional support, stress management, and lifestyle adjustments to optimize reproductive health. And if you are considering IVF, Dr. WIley can work together with your fertility doctor to give you the best chance of a healthy pregnancy during this stage of your life.

Each body is unique so a personalized plan that takes into account your specific health history and health needs will increase the chances for success.
