Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is widely considered an impact of trauma, and significantly strains one's capacity to manage their emotional response, especially in the context of close relationships. Relationships often break down or continue in toxicity when BPD symptoms are left untreated. It's prevalence is estimated at 1-7% in the general public, and 10-22% for clients accessing mental health care.
York University is conducting research into the effectiveness of therapy modalities for treating BPD. If you or your partner have (or believe you have) BPD, you may be eligible for free therapy support. Check out the link for more details:
