πWhat is dancer screening?
They involve collecting information on individual dancers to establish baseline assessments for:
β’ Strength (neurological, physiological & biomechanical) πͺ
β’ Balance βοΈ
β’ Range of motion (ROM) π
β’ Cardiovascular endurance (anaerobic & aerobic) π¨
β’ Biomechanical efficiency of dance-specific movement π©°
β’ Nutritional status π₯
β’ Psychological well-being π§ββοΈ
πWho conducts a dancer screening?
Often a team which may include a medical doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor, psychologist, nutritionist, and more.
πWhen do dancer screenings take place?
Ideally pre-season π
and then regularly afterwards to track progress π.
πWhy are they important?
Screening helps dancers learn more about their bodies, understand strengths & limitations, set better goals π―, optimize performance π, and prevent injury π«.
Worked with a great team β empowering dancers with knowledge so they can train smarter and stay healthy! πͺ
