A quiet thank -you to Mother Earth ! 🙏

Every herb in our apothecary- the tulsi, the ashwagandha, the turmeric - our healing allies- all came from Mother Earth.

Ayurveda has taught us for over 5000 years - basic manners - to thank Mother Earth and show our gratitude for all that She has given us.

So today, and everyday we should pause and be grateful to the Sun, the Moon and Mother Earth.

This morning during meditation, a word came to me:
Ruchi.

In Sanskrit, ruchi means “taste.”
But not just taste on the tongue.

It’s what you’re naturally drawn to.
What you enjoy.
What feels right to you.

Think about it… Go deep within - your gut feeling.

In the spiritual sense, those who walk a deeper path don’t feel deprived —
because their taste has shifted.

It becomes a kind of inner longing…
a quiet pull toward something more meaningful.

Like monks drawn to spirituality, although to the outside world, the lifestyle may seem very austere.

Ayurveda understands this in a practical way.

What you’re drawn to — in food, habits, even daily routines —
is not random.

It reflects what’s happening inside your body and mind. Cravings generally is a sign of imbalance within the body.

And when your system becomes more balanced,
your preferences begin to change naturally.

You don’t have to force discipline.
You begin to feel drawn toward what truly nourishes you.

So instead of asking,
“What should I stop?”

Try noticing more quietly:
What should I do to bring my mind and body more into balance?

I hear this from patients all the time. In Ayurveda, we call it depleted Ojas - your vital energy is running on empty.

Here are 3 simple changes that make a real difference.

1. Stop drinking cold water - it weakens your digestive fire (Agni) and drains your energy. Switch to warm or room temperature water.

2. Eat your biggest meal at lunch, not dinner- your digestion is strongest between 12-2 pm and A heavy dinner means your body works all night instead of restoring.

3. Add a teaspoon of ghee to your morning meal - ghee directly nourishes Ojas. It’s one of the most powerful rejuvenating foods in Ayurveda.

What actually happens in an Ayurvedic Consultation?

A lot of people are curious about Ayurveda but have no idea what happens in a real consultation.

So let me walk you through it.

Before we meet, you complete a detailed intake form covering your health history, digestion, elimination, daily routine, food patterns, sleep, stress, emotional patterns and physical characteristics.

During the consultation, I am assessing everything- your facial features, your eyes, your skin, your speech pattern, your tongue, your hair - all of which tells me about your constitutional makeup and current state of balance.

I assess your Prakriti (your birth constitution - the unique combination of Vata, Pitta and Kapha you were born with) and your Vikriti ( where you are right now - what’s out of balance).

Then in a separate session, I give you a detailed Report of Findings: your constitution, and what’s causing your symptoms. This session provides the foundation for your ongoing Ayurvedic care, which is developed and refined through follow up consultations tailored to your progress.

This isn’t a 15 minute appointment. This is the most thorough Ayurvedic assessment you will find- conducted by a doctor who treats the whole person, not just symptoms. This is a deep, thorough, doctor-level assessment of your entire being - body, mind and spirit.
