ROGER LEWIS - JAN 9 1936 - AUG. 9 2024
It is with heavy hearts we announce the loss of our dearest Roger who passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the age of 88. Devoted husband to Wendy Lewis (nee Masefield) whom he has been lovingly married to for 64 wonderful years. Cherished father to the late Simon (Jayne) Lewis, Michael (Veronica) Lewis and Paul Lewis. Proud grandfather to Stephanie, Thomas, Jennifer (Cameron) and Samantha. Always remembered by his extended family and friends across Canada and England. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Nelly Lewis (nee Willott). Roger may be gone from this world; however, he lives on in the stories and memories he has left with all those he touched during his lifetime. Roger was a Professor at Ryerson University where he taught Mechanical Engineering for 28 years and was a proud member of the Burlington Curling Club for 40 years. As per Roger's wishes, and those of his family, a private cremation will be taking place. A Celebration of Life will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday September 7, 2024 from 4-7p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation, Hamilton General Hospital or the Red Cross would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
