Facts About Joanne Decorte:
Movement has always been a big part of my life. I began studying dance at the age of 4 and danced professionally until the age of 30. Having experienced many injuries throughout my dance career, Pilates was the one thing that always lead me to a successful recovery. I became a comprehensively certified Contemporary Pilates instructor in 2003. Furthering my studies in the Pilates method, I became a Classical Pilates instructor in 2012, and a Peak Pilates Level 1 Master Instructor in 2015. My educational journey in Pilates will continue as I pursue the Peak Pilates MI pathway to Master Level 2, 3 and beyond. For the last 13 years I have directed, managed and taught in boutique Pilates studios and Athletic clubs. In December 2015, I decided to make a shift to working from home to have more time for myself, my husband and my beautiful daughter. I look forward to giving my clients my full attention during their lessons, no longer being interrupted with club tours, member questions or other distractions. My home Pilates studio is an intimate space, located in a quiet corner of my home and is furnished with the best custom Pilates equipment available. My studio is furnished with Peak Pilates equipment:

Back to basics.

The first exercise on the reformer is footwork. It helps to centre and warm up the body.

Why do we change the foot position on the bar? It stimulates different organs.

Toes = Heart
Arches = Liver
Heels = Kidney
Tendon stretch = a stretch for the Achilles tendon and calf muscles and provides feedback for proper foot alignment.
