During my stay in Saigon, I wanted to share a traditional Vietnamese spa experience rooted in local wellness rituals 🌿
We began with sauna and steam to warm the body and relax the muscles before treatment.
Then the Red Dao herbal bath, inspired by the Red Dao community in Northern Vietnam. Forest herbs are simmered and infused into warm water to help improve circulation, support muscle recovery, and encourage natural detox through sweating.
The 60-minute relaxation massage incorporated:
• Acupressure to release specific tension points and enhance circulation
• Manual kneading and gliding along muscle fibers
• Assisted stretching to gently mobilize joints and lengthen tight muscles
During the massage, red light therapy was used to warm the tissues and support blood flow. A traditional herbal powder was also applied along the back, adding heat and additional muscle-soothing support.
Next was a 35-minute herbal hair wash designed to complement the massage. It includes facial cleansing, a brief forehead massage, conditioner for nourishment, and a final herbal rinse made from roasted soapberry, lemongrass, pomelo peel, and other Vietnamese botanicals.
They use Cỏ Cây Hoa Lá herbal shampoo with Hà Thủ Ô (Polygonum multiflorum), traditionally known to support scalp health, strengthen hair from the roots, and reduce dryness and breakage.
Finished with an oatmeal face mask, blow dry, and Vietnamese desserts.
A comprehensive, tradition-inspired reset from head to toe. 🌿
