Osteopathy For Wellness

Osteopathy For Wellness Osteopathic manual therapy in Burlington, Ontario. Seeking the ROOT cause of PAIN and dysfunction.

Osteopathy is a manual form of therapy which seeks to get to the root cause of pain and dysfunction rather than to simply treat a patient’s symptoms. It is a gentle approach to restoring proper body mechanics to improve overall health. Osteopathic manual therapy is based on the principles that the body is a dynamic unit, the body is self-healing and self-regulating, and that the structure and func

tion of the body are reciprocally interrelated. The patient visit involves the assessment and treatment of motion restrictions and somatic dysfunction with the goal of relieving pain/discomfort, improve motion capabilities, and to encourage the body’s innate ability to heal.

While Osteopathy may seem complicated, the overarching concept is fairly straight forward: It is about aligning your structure so the body can heal itself. The cause of your misalignment isn't always so clear, and OMPs don't merely treat your symptoms. OSTCAN OMPs are trained to get to the root cause of your misalignment by understanding you as a whole, and use this information to apply safe, effective and efficient treatment.

Regular osteopathic treatment can be PREVENTATIVE. It can fix an issue you aren't aware of before it becomes more serious.

For many people, pain or discomfort indicates that something is wrong; but pain can also be the last cue to show up. Regular osteopathic treatment can be preventative or fix an issue you didn’t even know was there due to everyday wear and tear on the body.
You do not need a specific reason to seek treatment; your OSTCAN Osteopathic Manual Practitioner can help!

Osteopathic Treatment is a full body approach and assessment that doesn't only focus on pain, but the reason behind it. It not only helps patients with their discomfort, but also allows them to move better in order to prevent issues from reoccurring.
Ensuring that your body is moving the way it should is a priority for OSTCAN OMPs!

"Symptoms don't walk through the door, people do."

"Symptoms don't walk through the door, people do."

When a patient comes into an office of an OMP, they're not defined by their symptoms. An OMP doesn't see a bad stomach, a sore neck, a bad hip, etc. They see the full person, and then consider many other factors that could be contributing to pain. This full body approach to health is the reason so many patients finally find relief with Osteopathic treatments.

This September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is an opportunity to reflect on Canada's history and its present. To learn as much as we can. To go BEYOND. I have so much to learn. We all do.

I am honored to have found 's Voice and offer my support to the Urban Indigenous Foundation of HOPE and PEACE for Wellness. Home of the Earth Walkers.

I echo my collegue's comments, "Finally some media attention towards Osteopaths who have been lumped into personal services in Ontario, while our colleagues in other provinces have been able to work continuously as essential healthcare professionals. Because we are smaller in numbers, it’s been easy to ignore us. But continuity of patient care is vital, as is having equal status with chiropractors, physios, RMTs - this should not be in question any longer (even though we are still unregulated).
This week the two main osteopathic associations in Ontario are finally having collaborative meetings to further our cause with government representatives. A year of lobbying may finally make some headway!! 🙏💓" ~ Sofia Jambor
