As Breast Cancer Awareness month winds down here are a few signs to look for as red flags for breast health

Inverted ni**le
Changes to skin texture
Lumps
Ni**le discharge
Redness/rash
Swelling
Breast or ni**le pain
Lumps near the collar bone or in your underarm

Additionally, the best way to “know”your breasts is to do monthly self exams (physical and visual). So many women excuse themselves from self exams because of not knowing how, what to feel or look for or saying they feel lumpy all the time. If you practise regular self exams and learn how your breasts feel, at any time during the month, you are adding another tool for detection and prevention. And any suspicious finding in your breast is worth getting checked with your health care provider.

Did you know you have lymph nodes surrounding your breast tissue?

Breast tissue drains into clusters of lymph nodes located primarily in the armpit (axillary lymph nodes), chest (internal mammary lymph nodes), and under the collarbone (infraclavicular lymph nodes).

Swollen lymph nodes are often a sign of infection and will typically subside once the infection is treated.

We can help support our lymphatic system by promoting the movement of lymph. Breast lymph massage helps the body remove metabolic waste and toxins, contributing to overall detoxification. A healthy and active lymphatic system is essential for a strong immune system, so stimulating lymph flow can help the body fight infections and illnesses.

Let’s talk about “full”…….full moon, full heart or maybe full breast????

Have your breast ever felt “full” or “heavy” or both? The most common cause of breast fullness, often felt as heaviness or soreness, is the rise and fall of hormones like estrogen and progesterone.

And during menopause, although estrogen levels drop, changes in body fat distribution and muscle mass can still make breasts feel heavier.

October is breast awareness month….time to get your breast scan done.

Oh!! And how about that moon tonight?? We have a “full” day in Kingston tomorrow🌕🌕🌕🌜🌛

Do you know your breast health?

Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, as a pair or on their own. Knowing what’s happening on the inside is key for good breast health.

Breast thermography is used to detect heat (or cool) patterns without exposing you to radiation. The increase in metabolism and blood flow causes a local rise in temperature within the tissue identifying an abnormality.

Here’s where we’ll be so you can have your breast scan (or full body) in October
Oct 4- Brampton
Oct 6- Vaughan .ngkhealingtouch
Oct 7- Kingston

Did you know breast thermography has been available since the early ‘80’s?

The procedure is painless, non-invasive, and uses no radiation or compression. Breast thermography uses an infrared camera to create images of heat patterns on the breast’s surface. Abnormal cells require more oxygen and nutrients to grow, increasing local blood flow and metabolic activity, therefore changing the temperature allowing the camera to identify the abnormal tissue.

Skin temperature changes are unique to each person based on what is going on with their health.

For medical thermography it’s the heat radiating away from the skin that is being measured because.......
The skin is the body’s most intelligent organ and is wired with a communication network that connects to and shares information between all the systems in the body such as the nervous system, the organ systems, the immune system, the musculoskeletal system, and the endocrine pathways. The elevated or decreased temperature is an indication of abnormalities and will help you to understand key areas to focus on.

Let us help you find the missing pieces to your health puzzle.
