The Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Hamilton

The Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Hamilton This page is monitored Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Contact us at reception@thecatholiccemeteries.ca for more information.

The Catholic Cemeteries are owned and operated as a not-for-profit and charitable organization by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton. We are proud to be part of your family and faith tradition, having provided burial services since the Diocese was founded in 1856. We continue to develop our services to meet the needs of the community. In recent years we have expanded our cemeteries and mausolea, opened a Catholic Cremation Centre, developed the capacity for internet purchases, and more. All Catholics and their family members (whether or not those family members are also Catholics) are invited to make use of our cemeteries. Choosing a Catholic cemetery offers the unique peace of mind that comes from knowing a loved one’s final resting place will be maintained at the highest standards, and with all the respect the Church can provide.

Elevator Service Interruption: Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum

We are currently upgrading the elevator in the south-side of Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum (near the bayside entrance). This work is expected to take approximately one week to complete. The elevator in the north-side is available for use to access all floors. We apologize for any inconvenience.

As Spring approaches, we wish to remind everyone that all winter decorations, including wreaths on stands, must be removed from gravesites by April 1st. We understand the importance of honouring loved ones throughout the year, and appreciate your assistance in keeping our cemeteries beautiful for all to enjoy. Please note that any winter decorations remaining on graves after April 1st, will be removed and discarded.

Please use caution when visiting cemeteries during the winter due to icy conditions. Our Cemeteries do their best to salt walkways; however, due to current salt shortages, there may be an increased risk of slippery surfaces.

Thank you, and stay safe!
