Warning: this lumbar support pillow is actually making your back pain worse. Here’s why a chiropractor would never recommend it.

I’m Dr. Alison Lejkowski, a chiropractor with 15+ years treating lower back pain. Over the last three weeks I’ve shared the couch-only pick, the overall winner, and the best desk chair option. This is the final one — and it’s the reason I started this series.

The Poksri has a sloped shape that actively encourages your lower back to round outward when you sit on a firm chair. That’s the exact posture we’re trying to get away from. Rounded lower back under load means more disc pressure, less muscular support, and over time — more pain, not less.

At under $30 it looks like a bargain. It isn’t. Saving $15 on a pillow that works against your spine isn’t a saving — it’s a cost.

35 volunteers. Zero complaints. (Okay, maybe a few about the weather. 😅)

If you were at the 20k mark of this morning, this post is for you. Save it, share it, tag someone who earned it today.

This morning, in the cold and the rain, something really special happened at the top of LaSalle Park. Runners who had already covered 20 kilometres dug deeper than they thought possible. Legs burning, lungs working overtime. And… they were met with a wall of noise, music, and people who genuinely wanted them to succeed.

That’s NOT nothing. That’s everything.

To every runner who toed the line today… you chose hard. You could have stayed in bed. You didn’t. That matters.

And to our 35 incredible volunteers… From the first setup to the final runner through; you showed up in every sense of the word. Cold hands, warm hearts, and a megaphone cheer squad that I’m pretty sure they heard in Hamilton.

I’m Dr. Alison Lejkowski, a chiropractor with 15+ years treating lower back pain. Over the last two weeks I’ve shared the couch-only pick and the overall winner. This week: the one built for serious desk time.

The Travel Ease is the largest pillow I tested. More surface area, more spinal coverage, and it actually transformed how a hard kitchen or desk chair felt to sit in for hours. It has a strap. It stays put. On a firm chair it’s genuinely impressive.
