So excited to share this!!

I just wrapped up an inspiring few days at the Conference held in Banff! It’s really difficult for me to decide if I was more energized by the conference or the city itself, lol! They were both incredible, really.

CACBT put so much thought into making the conference not just a well-organized event, but a genuinely joyful and uplifting experience. The entire surrounding and the landscape views we saw from the conference room and the cafeteria were beyond words. SOMEHOW, despite what we hear, Banff was still even more beautiful than I expected!

I’m also so grateful to have been able to carve out time for a peaceful morning reading by the lake and for some scenic hikes. I even had a few up-close encounters with wildlife! One literally crossed the pedestrian crossing with me, lol! 🦌

These few days have been the perfect mix of mental and professional stimulation and an uplifting wellbeing experience. Thank you CACBT for this unforgettable experience.✨

Tomoum Counselling turns 3 today! 🎉✨

Oh my God, I can’t believe it’s been 3 years already! It’s been such a ride with a lot of Woohoos and just as many WOAHs – lol! But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I went into this wanting to help people, but looking back at this journey, I realize how much it has helped me too! I had my own tough moments too, and having this job, my practice, and my clients grounded me. It kept me on my feet and pushed me to keep going… Coz I had to find it in me to show up for my clients! And every time someone tells me that I’ve helped or made a difference is a moment of joy that makes it all worthwhile. 💕

I don’t know if I’m biased, but I think I have the best clients! Because when there were days when I couldn’t show up – whether it’s a tough day, sick day, or a “Mom stuff” day – my clients showed up for me. They didn’t just entrust me with their stories, but they also accepted me as a human and offered me the flexibility I needed to make it work for me and for them.

Moments of gratitude 🙏

To my clients: You don’t know how much you mean to me. I am truly grateful for each of you being part of my journey, just as I’ve been part of yours. Even those who have concluded their journey with me, you cross my mind, and I send you all the love in the world.

I’m also grateful for the counsellors, mentors, and experts in the field for the knowledge, support, and growth you’ve offered me.

And to Sara, our new admin assistant, thank you for helping Tomoum Counselling run smoothly and continue to grow!

And finally, to my family and friends who always believed in me, who step in in those moments when I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, or doubting myself, and who remind me that this is what I was born to do—thank you for being my village and pillars.

🌟 Apart from family or friend roles, I know this is what I came to this world to offer. Not many are lucky enough to fulfill their meaning and purpose in life through their work, and for that, I am forever grateful. And I’m forever grateful for the people and the journey that led to this moment.

So here’s to three years, and to everything ahead.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs!

This is definitely something I share with many of my clients because it's a reminder of how personal growth and well-being really require a strong, steady foundation. When one layer is unstable, it’s really difficult to move up the pyramid. By ensuring our fundamental needs are met, we unlock our potential to thrive in relationships, careers, and self-fulfillment.

We often beat ourselves up for not being able to achieve higher levels of the pyramid without cutting ourselves a slack about how we're really struggling with lower ones at the moment.

Here's a question for you:
Which of these levels represent the battle you're fighting these days?

Meeting our essential needs is crucial for our well-being. Taking time for yourself, having a strong support system, and receiving physical and emotional affection from loved ones are all keys to feeling truly valued. When these needs are fulfilled, you’ll experience enhanced mental health, greater resilience, and a deeper sense of fulfillment.

Healing is a journey of Awareness, Acceptance, and Growth. It starts with recognizing your feelings, embracing them without judgment, and taking steps to evolve from your experiences. Remember, this path requires patience and self-compassion.. Because it's not a one-stop and go! It's ever-growing because you are always evolving. And that is something to embrace, rather than shy away from or resent. It's what makes you limitless in a way.

Depression doesn’t always look like sadness. It can be hidden behind smiles, busyness, or even silence. Check-in with those around you—sometimes the signs you can’t see are the ones that matter most. 💙

I slowed down this Thanksgiving 😌.
I made a conscious choice to take it easy and not stress myself or strain my back in the process, lol.

And that meant it was just me, the garlic, and the potatoes!
Letting that be enough "productivity" on its own.

And you know what? Everything turned out great, even the turkey.
: It was my first time making a turkey, so I’m super "YAY" about it 🥰

As part of slowing down and taking it easy, etc...
I also embraced the imperfection this Thanksgiving!
I poked the turkey’s skin AND forgot the string to tie its legs.
And I just... made peace with that. Lol

And guess what again... It wasn’t even an issue in the end!
You couldn’t even notice it. I personally forgot about it because it didn’t show.

Way less stress and jaw-clenching! 🩵

How was your Thanksgiving? 🍁
What do you want to take away from it this year?

Healing, intimacy, and healthy relationships are within your reach, even if your past feels overwhelming. Your trauma and attachment wounds are not your fault, and it’s completely understandable to struggle with intimacy or self-sabotage.

It can be so frustrating to question why you can’t find the right person or seem to act the “right” way in your relationships. Remember, you have the power to choose healing, to put in the effort, and to seek out the meaningful connections you deserve.

Healthy relationships are possible.

Your mental health matters every day. So here's a reminder on to prioritize self-care, break the stigma, and support one another on the journey to mental wellness. Remember, asking for help is BRAVE, not weak. 💚
