A group of clinicians here to offer a space that feels steady, supportive, and genuinely human.
We believe therapy works best when your counsellor understands your world, not just clinically, but through real-life experience too. That’s why our team is made up of clinicians who have lived through many of the transitions they support clients through.

While we each have different areas of focus, we share the same foundation. All of our clinicians are trained in trauma-informed care, including EMDR. 🧠

We are very excited to introduce Ocean, one of our counsellors at Mindfluent! 🌈

Ocean brings a curiosity, humility, and authenticity to her work in supporting clients navigate relational trauma, life transitions, identity exploration and more. She utilizes EMDR and attachment based therapies to support clients in developing empowerment, insight, acceptance, and self-compassion.

▪️Ocean works with adults and youth (age 13+) and offers sessions in English. 🌤️

Outside of the therapy room, Ocean can be found exploring local trails, enjoying cuddles with their cat, or wandering the aisle of a craft store looking for inspiration for their next project.

Jonathan brings a strength-based, compassionate, and anti-oppressive approach to counselling. He is deeply curious about people’s stories and experiences, integrating Eastern philosophies with Western therapeutic perspectives to support clients with care and respect.

💙 He works with adults and the LGBTQ+ community and offers sessions in both English and Cantonese.

🍃 Outside the office, Jonathan enjoys story-rich video games 🎮, exploring new restaurants and recipes with his partner, hiking, and the occasional yoga session.

When healing slows down, it can be easy to assume something is wrong.

That you are stuck.
That you are going backward.

But pauses in trauma therapy are not a sign of failure. They are often a sign that your nervous system is doing its job.

Sometimes the body pulls the brakes not because healing is unwanted, but because it needs to happen safely. Slower moments can show up when memories become more accessible, when stress increases, or when your system needs time to integrate what has already shifted.

If this resonates, you are not alone. Therapy and EMDR work best when your system is allowed to move at the speed of safety.

How often do you pause to notice what’s really happening inside you? 🌿

It’s easy to move through the day on autopilot, caught up in responsibilities, distractions, or caring for others before yourself. But gentle moments of self-check-in can help you reconnect with your needs and emotions before they turn into overwhelm.

These four questions are a simple way to start:
💭 What thought has been taking most of my attention?
☕ What small thing could bring me comfort or ease today?
🤍 What does my body need in this moment?
🌊 What emotion feels most present right now?

You don’t have to have all the answers. Just noticing can be enough. Over time, this kind of awareness builds emotional regulation, self compassion, and a deeper connection with yourself.

Olena brings warmth, authenticity, and a deep understanding of resilience to her work. Having lived across Ukraine, China, and Canada, she values connection across cultures and believes that healing begins when we feel seen, understood, and safe.
